Now after reading all these posts, I'm excited for you. Hopefully everything goes well. Just make sure to bring along your camera when you go on sunday. And def. keep us informed. She is a beautiful pup. But my husband would kill me if I spent that much for my baby. I spent $700 for my lil girl. She hopefully will stay about 4-5 lbs. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed for ya. :D |
I know, I still think the amount is pretty outrageous, but I just love her! Around here, a purebred yorkie (from a reputable breeder) goes for anywhere between $1200 and $3000!! I'm soooo excited, I've already started looking on Tinkerbell's Closet for fun little dresses and bows! I can't wait for a little girlie girl! |
I hope everything turns out good for you. That pic of the soda can comparison is so cute. We paid $2200 for Angel and although we weren't looking for a small yorkie (she was guestimated to be 3.5 lbs full grown by the breeder), we fell in love with her when we met her. The price was initially for a 4lb+ dog but since we were waiting for 5months for our pup the breeder offered the same price for Angel. The other reason breeders charge more for smaller dogs (4lbs or less) is because it takes more time/effort and money to take care of these tiny souls. It makes sense in this regard but just for the fact of its size.......that calls for suspicion (money grabbing). Hope this all makes sense, I'm still a bit sleepy :coffee_n_ |
I think she is precious! My older yorkie, Hobbs, was 1.8 lbs when I got him at 8 weeks and he is barely breaking the 3 pound mark right now at 9 months old. I think that if she is willing to refund $500.00 if the pup gets over 4 lbs then you should go for it! Especially if you are already in love with her! :D Oscar is going to have SO much fun with his new little sister! |

I know!! I'm soooo excited!!! I can't wait to see her in person! Hearing about Hobbs' size just proves how you never really know what you're going to get - I think there is a good chance she could be under 4lbs full grown, and I would like to think that an experienced breeder (she has 25yrs of experience) would kindof have an 'eye' for this you know what I mean? She is probably a better judge knowing her own dogs and breeding for so long. I just really want her to be healthy that's priority #1 - everything else is just icing. Last night I was checking out Shana's site and picking out all the fun things I'll be able to buy for her!! I had to control myself though - at least wait until I SEE her so I can judge sizing. I dont think I can wait until AUGUST! Oh.. and I had a dream that the breeder didn't want me to have the puppy and wouldnt sell her to me. :( I keep thinking this is what's going to happen! |

Thanks so much guys! You guys are making me feel soooo positive about this now! 4 more days til I see her! Then I have to go through the AGONY of waiting until August to take her home! The week I had to wait for Oscar felt like the longest week of my life - and that was ONLY a week!!! I really think her parents are exceptional too! :p |
