| snorting and jerking like she couldnt breath ??? this morning Kizzy scared the heck out of me. She was laying here on my rug where she stays when i'm in my computer room and she was asleep. suddenly it sounded like she was snorting and jerking her body for a few seconds. I jumped up to see about her and she jumped right up and looked at me and I called her and walked on into the kitchen and she followed me and she has seemed fine since. So I dont know what caused her to do that. anybody ever had their puppy do this?

| maybe a collapsed trachea in the early stages. romeo developed it as a pup with similiar symptoms. heat seems to aggrivate it. |

| Maybe she was having a bad dream?? A lot of times Hobbs and Hootie will have bad dreams and make really strange noises and move really funny, like they are chasing something in their dream. Or, maybe she was reverse sneezing. But my guess is that since she was asleep, she was just having a bad dream. |

| Could be something as harmless as reverse sneezing or more serious like collapsed trachea. This is the best link I have seen to describe the difference. Go to th link, then choose hypoglycemia on the left and then choose collapsed trachea. http://www.glassyorkies.homestead.com/ |

| I'm thinking bad dream too! Sometimes Ginger snorts and jerks when she's sleeping, my schnauzer used to do this as well. Good luck figuring it out.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali did that last night but my Pom does it a lot and I just cover her mouth and nose and she starts breathing normal again. I could not get cali to stop and just before she had a little piece of milk bone in her mouth so i wasn't sure if she was choking or what. She also was panicing where as May a doesn't seem to get bothered by it. I tried clearing her mouth and getting her in her carrier to take to the ER vet and she freaked out. So I got some Ice cream, not sure why but she started to lick the spoon and started breathing normally. Boy was that scary because it lasted 5 minutes.
