| yorkie only had one puppy hi i am a new to this forum. i bred my yorkie at 1 year and on the second heat to a 5lb male. she is 6lbs. she just had her one puppy tonight. how wonderful. my children were sooo exited. just wanted to know if having only one puppy is normal for a fist litter and should there be visable signs of cleanings or did she eat them? i can raise hogs but dogs seem to be a little different. when the puppy was born he encased in a really thick sack and i had to remove. this puppy is 6oz how big will he be? thanks so much: |

| only 1 pup is normal. I always take mine to the vet along with the mother within 24 hours of having a litter to get pups and mom checked. This is a great site for info you may need. That "search" option above will help with any quick questions you may need answered right away. Congrats on the new little pup! It is always a guessing game trying to land exactly what a pup will weight when full grown. |

| Congratulations and welcome to YT. be sure to take them both to the vet to have them checked out to make sure they are all out of there. I am not a breeder myself but there are some wonderful people on here that are. pics are nice here too. we love pics of babies.

| Welcome! Hi and welcome to YT! Congrats on your new puppy! 6oz is a pretty big, healthy pup!!... he/she may grow to be 6 pounds or over. My Penny had one pup a few years ago.... she never got pregnant again after that( ).. I had her spayed this year. My other yorkie females average 4 pups in a litter. Best of luck with your new addition.... pictures please!!!!
