| Michiko, You are right, the prices vary for so many reasons. I know that some breeders get a lot more than shots done at the vet and those tests come with bills. Some breeders work more on the behavior and temperament of their puppies also. I have predominantly had rescue pets, and my parents were breeders and showed dogs.. In my home, if I'm looking for certain qualities (AKC, medical testing, socialization...etc) it's worth what I'm willing to pay. I absolutely HATE travelling and was on the verge of making a trip to your little Haruka's birth home to get a good baby... If I am certain that I am willing to deal with any medical or behavior problems and a completely unknown past and heritage, I got to a rescue. (All of my pets before our Yorkie have come from the pound or rescue...this time I wanted a Yorkie..) Having had rescue pets, I do not kid myself about the value nor the cost of a dog. I have spent a fortune on vet bills on a rescue...I was very careful about getting my Yorkie as a Yorkie from a questionble line was no different in my mind than the medical roulette of pound pups. Please dont think that I am arrogant enough to believe that my well bred pooch is immune from any problems but now I actually have pictures of four generations and have spoken with EVERYONE who has gotten a puppy from this sire and dam...It is different than wondering if my Frank, the wondermutt had been neutered very early, or did he have any of his puppy vaccinations..etc... We have the paper from the rescue and all we know about him is that he was tested for heartworm and had a rabies vaccine.. It's nice knowing more for a change. As long as the person is aware of their own situation and what they are willing to take on, the purchase price of the dog doesn't matter to anyone other than the family getting the dog.

| Here's my 2 cents. If you're not going to show her, does it matter how perfect she is? What do you think is so great about this yorkie? (These questions are not sarcastic, just to get you to think.)

| You can't put a price on love. If money isn't the issue than what I would do is just go spend time with her. You will know within minutes if the connection is there for you. And you could even think of taking your other babies with you. I don't show but I do breed and i'd say she is asking that price because she has invested alot of her own time and money into her and $2,000 wouldn't even begin to cover her costs. So that is probably why she is so high. i agree with Patti..for good health i'd pay that much and more if Ihad to. So i'd just visit her and go with your heart as you smile at your hubbie and the checkbook lol..

| I just paid $1200 for a yorkie who is 8-9mos old and I regret it. If I'm ever going to pay that much money again, it would be for a younger dog who I can get him used to my lifestyle right away. I have another one I paid $1500 for and he is great but I got him at 4mos old. This other one was not worked with enough. I too thought that I was drawn to this path and this dog was meant for me and now I regret it. suz |

| Donating YT 30K Club Member | I emailed the lady I met at the show since I couldn't get a hold of the lady who has her right now. I told her that I wasn't in a postion right now to take a new dog.
