| Too Many Tags? My Yorkie wears 4 tags on his collar: Rabies Vaccine Tag, Name and Phone Number Tag, ACA Lost Tag, and Micro Chip Tag. Is this too many tags? I think it is a bit much but I don't know which one to eliminate. What do you guys think and how many tags do your dogs wear? |

| none. we don't put collars on our yorkies to avoid trachea injury. Tags can be kept on the leash with an O ring.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Ruby wears a very lightweight collar and just a bell right now, I like hearing where she is. I am looking for a different style of tag, it is tough to find tags small enough. I don't have her wear the rabies tag though, it is just too big. I have read about someone on YT making silk collars, I'll check into them, sounds like they would be very lightweight. We use a harness for her leash. |

| Hi! I'm the person who makes the silk step-in harnesses and collars. My family of Yorkies do not wear collars or tags. When we go for walks, we use the silk step in harnesses -- the tags are attached to the handle on the leash. |

| Is there a certain kind of clip that you can use to easily (but securely) attach and unattach tags from harnesses or leashes? (we use several different ones! )

| My yorkies never wear collars unless I take them to the vet where they have to be on a leash. Fortunately, I live on a farm with the front three acres fenced in. My back yard is about an acre and my dogs have the run of that when they are outside. |

| Brownie never wears a collar, he tags are on her harness. I just try to avoid the collars because of unwanted accidents like her hooking it on something and choking, also because of their already treachas (sp) being problematic. She also hates the clinking sound around her neck, lol.

| Tags My Tugger wears a collar, as well as a harness; I walk him on the harness, but i keep the tags on his collar. I just got him a new superman tag from the quick tag thing at walmart. theyr cheaper than petsmart, but petsmart still has good quality ones.

| Mine all have tags on their harnesses, except Trixie, she can't wear a harness because she will chew it up so she has to wear a collar. They have their rabies tag, license tag, and name tag. I like the tags on them because they work like a bell, I can hear them and tell where they are so I don't trip over them. My border collie has 6 tags on her, we could not get her old liscense tags off so we had to keep them on her. If you don't mind the tags and your dog don't then keep them on.

But this way I feel like if she sneaks away and runs out of the house somehow she will at least have her info on her. On her collar she just has one small ID tag, on which I got her info and license number engraved. No rabies shots yet, because she is still a baby. But apparently many people don't let their dogs wear anything. So, I am wondering: does this sound okay? Am I doing something wrong? What is the right thing to do?

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I like having Ruby wear the bell for noise, so we know where she is (teenage boys). I do worry though she could get hung up w/the collar. Do those of you who choose no collar not have problems with knowing when your dog is underfoot? I'll check into the cat ID tags though, good idea. Chattiesmom; I would like some info on your silk collars and harnesses, do you have a website? |

| Georgie has a collar with his tags on it but he doesn't wear it unless we go somewhere. Normally his outside experience consists of the backyard when Mommy or Daddy are out there watching him or taking walks with us.

| We had a tag printed from boomerangtags.com (the bone style). One side has her name, address, and phone. The other has "HomeAgain ID" and the #. That way we reduced the number of tags. She has also wears her rabies tag. |
