That's what I will do with Mia too. (she just goes out on lap at the moment). I will take off the harness while at home but keep the collar. I would not walk her with just the collar though because of the throat issue.
But this way I feel like if she sneaks away and runs out of the house somehow she will at least have her info on her. On her collar she just has one small ID tag, on which I got her info and license number engraved. No rabies shots yet, because she is still a baby.
But apparently many people don't let their dogs wear anything. So, I am wondering: does this sound okay? Am I doing something wrong? What is the right thing to do?
