| Collars! I am not here to cause a debate about collars. I just have a few questions. Lola wears a collar evryday with a cat bell. If she doesn't wear it then we can't hear her when she is underfoot. We put it on her for her safety. She is sneaky without it. Here is my question, for all of you who don't put collars on your dogs, are they all larger dogs? Lola wears a harness when out for a walk. I know that her trachea is fragile. I don't really want her wearing a harness all day. 1. because I assume it is not comfortable and 2. because it causes mats. Does anyone have any suggetsions as to what my alternatives are? I would appreciate any advice.

| I have found that silk does not matt the hair like regular fabrics, ribbon and webbing. I make collars out of dupioni silk, in a rainbow of 25 colors. I use side release buckles and have both regular and breakaway (like those used with cat collars). I make matching step-in harnesses and leashes for walks, too. Until the end of June, the silk collars are sale -- please pm me if you are interested. |

| My gang ranging in size of 3#'s to 14#s only wear their harness when we are going out for a car trip. I am lucky that my entire backyard has 6ft stucco walls so they can run their hearts out without any chance of getting away so they don't have to wear their harness's.

| My bigger dogss were collars, but they are 25 pounds and up. Trixie who is 9 pounds wears a collar simply because she will eat or chew on the harness if you keep it on her. Scampers wears a step in harness all day that has his tags attached. I think if you were to use a breakaway collar for inside the house and a harness for outside or walks then you should be alright. Oh and I have bought a silk harness from Cindy and I must say that they are great and don't matt up the hair like regular harnesses, and it took him no time at all to adjust to it, with any other harness he hates it and it takes a long time to adjust, but with this harness he does not even know that he has one on because it is comfortable and light weight, the harnesses she makes are great!!
