| shedding? First of all I know Yorkies are not suppose to shed! I have a 9 month old female and even though she a akc registered to be full bred, I believe that she could be a mix. If you look at her pic you will see what I mean. I have put her on missing link about 3 months ago and her coat somewhat improved but she is still not growing hair on her head. She also is shedding quit a bit. I brush her everyday and ordered crown royal shampoo and still she is loosing quite a bit of hair. My question is, could it be her diet? The breeder I got her from had her on purina puppy chow and I kept her on that because I thought if I changed her diet I would have diarreah all over. Should I change her food will this stop the shedding? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance meeshue |

| Remember (not sure if you know already): you need to gradually change her food over. You'll need to mix the new food with the old over a few days until you ween out the old food.. If you just change the food with out mixing the two at first she can get sick from it. |

| Thanks jager! I did know that and I will be very careful when changing her food, I don't want her to get sick in anyway. Not good for me or her. Thanks again |

| Is she shedding, but still maintaining a full coat? Not long, but full? If she is not loosing hair or going bald in spots, then I would have to say that she probably is not a purebred, because yorkies don't shed and their hair does get long, or grow, like people. But upgrading her food will help keep the shedding down to a minimum and you still have one sweet little baby. |

| She has a very full coat with no bald spots. She just sheds. I brush her to take out the loose hair but later in the day when she gets off her favorite pillow I see hair again. |

| She is a cutie but I would agree that she looks more like a mix-Yorkie and Chi comes to mind. I had a puppy who looked exactly like that and the breeder really did not know she was a mix. Her sire was owned by someone else and he was a mix...but, no matter, I love that innocent face. I feed BilJac and RC puppy and my critters love it. I have tried Solid Gold, Artemesia, and goodness knows how many others but they seem to consistently eat that combo... |

| What a cutie pie. Even if she is a mix she's beautiful.

| Your little pup is very cute -- but I agree, she doesn't look like a purebred Yorkie. What if she is part another breed that sheds? In this case, it may be very normal for her to shed some - and has nothing to do with anything else including her diet. Good luck- Carol Jean |

| Chihuahuas do shed, so that will continue, but your puppy is a little doll. I wouldn't worry about it. Enjoy her. They are all little miracles.
