| He thinks rocks are turtles!!!! Help! Yogi has had this passion ( I guess you would call it) for box turtles. He wails and does this scream bark when he sees them. Well two weeks ago, hubby and I built a fence in an area about 30 x 30 for he and Dori, I lined the landscaping with flagstone (small ones) well, as of 4 days ago, Yogi stopped outside to look at one of the stones, (they are about the same size as the turtles) and let out this same wail and bark like he does when he sees a turtle and hovers over the rock, bites and bites it, pulls it out of the ground and loses his little mind over these rocks????? So, I take out that particular rock and toss it, he goes to the next one and ditto. He crys to go out there now, all the time He runs up to me, puts his paw on my leg and looks at me with his little head sideways and whines, I say no,he runs to the window and just wails. He won't even go tee tee now, just straight to the rocks?????Now, I can't take out all the rocks, the sidewalk, patio, landscaping ect. theres rocks everywhere out there??? Now what?

| So he's been in the yard with the rocks and then 4 days ago it suddenly occurred to him that the rocks might be turtles? Maybe he saw a bug or a toad run under the rocks? Any chance he might just lose interest in the rocks if given enough time? You know, like a favorite toy that no one else is allowed to play with, after a while it gets discarded if no one else is interested... that's part of the fun. I mean since they are just rocks and not turtles or something and will respond to his attacks... maybe he will get bored with them. Sorry I don't have any advice on how to overcome this... they can really obsess over some strange things... ( sorry, but the mental image makes me chuckle . I can just picture him attacking these rocks with everything in him...) |

| Oh, how cute, you know you just have to love Yorkies. Once they make up their mind.... well it's so hard to change it. My advice would be to buy Yogi a turtle to have as his very own pet. That way when Yogi is out in the back yard barking, at least he will have a legitimate reason. |

| Reuger does that when things are moved out of their place or when something new is moved in. My aunts bought me a cherub planter after my Dad died. After I opened it one of my aunts took it into the living room and set it on the floor. After a few minutes Reuger noticed it and went nuts!! I finally took Reuger up to it so he could smell it and after that he was ok with it. Yesterday it was a balloon (I finally had to move it into a bedroom and shut the door). A while back it was a black trash bag with trash in it. I would guess that he's barking because he notices that something has been added. I would give it a few days because I think that he'll get used to it being there and get tired of barking at it.

| Lololol!!! My Angel had a rock fetish, and would go coo coo over them and carry them around like they were balls. I always worried about her teeth! I would say bring Yogi's favorite toy outside and let him play with it out there, and maybe he won't be so distracted by the turtle-rocks! Too cute...

You SHOULD worry about the teeth, Glad. Boo the Boxer has worn all of her front teeth down to NOTHING. Completely and entirely down to the gum line. The only toy that Boo the Boxer will play with is a Rock.... she loves rocks. She will carry a rock around with her, drop it on the sidewalk or driveway and then pounce on it with her front feet making it slide.... We had to put our foot down when she tried to do that on our hardwood floor

If there is something new in the room or something moved, he won't relax until I bring him to it, or it to him and let him have a closer look and a sniff. Even then he still doesn't relax until I removed it. Heaven knows what goes on in their minds!!

| Ok, I know this isn't funny to YOU....but.... Maybe "give him his own turtle" is a good idea. Not a REAL one to torture , but ...one of those heavy plastic toys from the Just-a-Buck? or a resin "garden decoration" kind from the Family Dollar? SOMETHING to distract him from the rocks!

| LOL!! They can obsess over the wierdest things, huh? Schatzi goes through wierd phases where she hates something and she'll bark and obsess....and then she gets over it. Who knows, maybe he'll realize they're "just rocks" and forget about them after a while too....LoL....I know it's serious, but he looks sooo cute

| His hair is so gorgeous! I wish Mazie's was thick and full like that. Hers just always looks thin and scraggly! And I'm thinking that Kiki is going to be the OTHER extreme!
