| Kizzy is drinking more lately too but eating less. I wonder if the heat makes them eat less, I know some people dont like to eat as heavy in summer. It was like 105 with heat index here today and dry. She loved to stay on our deck during the day and play but when its hot like today and a few other days she rather be in the A/c house. I do not leave water out for her but I put it down often so its fresh. I get her water from the water on fridge door because its always colder. I also give her cubes of ice and she lays on a rug in front of the fridge and eats it. I use to put a couple cubes in her water but she started putting both paws in the bowl trying to get the ice out to eat it and all her hair on her chin and both feet got wet plus water all around the bowl so I just give her ice now. hubby started her eating ice as he always has ice in his cup when he comes home from work and pours it out on the deck for her to eat. She loves it. I would not restrict her water even tho I have to take her out to pee lots more often but I feel like they need lots of water if they run and play a lot even in the house. She pretty well lets me know if she wants it as she comes to me and either whines or barks and goes and lays down in front of her bowl or stands in front of it. But I always have a fear of them getting dehydrated if they dont have enough water intake.

I so agree Restricting water can lead to health concerns.
