Albino yorkie??? Ok everybody, is there such a thing? A friend of mine said her hubby's boss has one. She is solid white, not silver and has blue eyes. If that's for really a Yorkie, I want one!! Somebody tell me, so I can correct that man. |
If its solid white its not a yorkie,it sounds more like a maltese to me although maltese dont have blue eyes..maybe its a mixed breed of some sort.A woman once claimed to have an albino yorkie, she kept saying how incredibly rare it was,it was just a biewer:rolleyes: |
I'm not for sure, but would suppose that an albino can show up in most anything. There has been an albino deer spotted in this area and also some albino bison. I think if there was an albino yorkie, that it would have health issues, especially to do with the eyes. I could be totally off base here...just my thoughts. |
Well, Maltese is what I thought..but the guy swears it's a yorkie and he pd $2500 for it... I'm from Mo, so, "Show Me"... some proof, I want to see it for my self. |
Wasn't there a "white yorkie" listed on Divapup or something? I think it was like $3000. It was 1/4 maltese and 3/4 yorkie. Although if the dog has blue eyes that is probably different.... |
I don't know, but I want to see it...I guess there could be an albino anything, but if it is 1/2 and 1/2, then it isn't a full yorkie, so why charge $3000.00? I cant see myself ever paying $7,500.00 for a mix...there's one on Divapup. Guess I need a male Maltese! |
I went to divapup website to see if that white yorkie was there but it's not. They have a lot of mixed breed puppies at high prices. Doxi/chi cross for $1500! Some of those cross puppies they have look so wierd, I can't believe the prices. I wonder if there is a way to get a picture of the albino yorkie??? put your husband up to asking for a picture :D |
There was a puppy claimed to be a "white yorkie" on Diva pup, actully two of them a male and a female. When it came down to it we found out the puppy was actully 3/4 maltese and 1/4 yorkie. They actully had moved it to the maltese page last time I checked. I think they ask so much money for it because no offense but ignorant people are willing to pay it, for something they believe to be rare. It isnt rare, it isnt speacial, and it certianly shouldnt be $3500.00. Yes all puppies and dogs are loveable and nice, but I would not spend that kind of money on a mixed breed dog. As far as an albino, rare yes but the possiblilty is there, as it is for anything, but it would have very bad health issues, all true albinos do. If it is a heathly dog, I would bet money that it is not a true purebred yorkie. |
Well albino yorkies got me searching the web, I couldn't find one photo of an albino yorkie anywhere, what so ever. I searched them all. I even went to animal planet. So if there is one out there, they are keeping it a big secret. |
Don't albino animals have red eyes, not blue? |

Heck I was wondering that three that is why I went searching. I just had an idea though. Think I will search the library of Congress. If they still let you. Use to jump off a gopher and link in, can't do that anymore, just have to try the front door this time. |
Guess what even the Library of Congress doesn't have an albino Yorkie in the whole place. I even researched albino animals. Dang I so wanted to see one. |
I am sure there can be albino yorkies and they would be very rare, just as anything albino is rare. Biewers are "rare" too in the fact that there are not very many of them yet. They are derived directly from breed standard yorkies with recessive colors in thier heritage. People like anything that's "different" and the prices people will pay support that. If it's "different" and cute, and they are just looking for a pet, they don't care if it's a mixed breed or an unusual color, and they will pay extra for unusual and different if they have the money to spend. That's the way the free market system works. JMHO. |
