Albino yorkie??? Ok everybody, is there such a thing? A friend of mine said her hubby's boss has one. She is solid white, not silver and has blue eyes. If that's for really a Yorkie, I want one!! Somebody tell me, so I can correct that man. |
If its solid white its not a yorkie,it sounds more like a maltese to me although maltese dont have blue eyes..maybe its a mixed breed of some sort.A woman once claimed to have an albino yorkie, she kept saying how incredibly rare it was,it was just a biewer:rolleyes: |
I'm not for sure, but would suppose that an albino can show up in most anything. There has been an albino deer spotted in this area and also some albino bison. I think if there was an albino yorkie, that it would have health issues, especially to do with the eyes. I could be totally off base here...just my thoughts. |
Well, Maltese is what I thought..but the guy swears it's a yorkie and he pd $2500 for it... I'm from Mo, so, "Show Me"... some proof, I want to see it for my self. |
Wasn't there a "white yorkie" listed on Divapup or something? I think it was like $3000. It was 1/4 maltese and 3/4 yorkie. Although if the dog has blue eyes that is probably different.... |
I don't know, but I want to see it...I guess there could be an albino anything, but if it is 1/2 and 1/2, then it isn't a full yorkie, so why charge $3000.00? I cant see myself ever paying $7,500.00 for a mix...there's one on Divapup. Guess I need a male Maltese! |
I went to divapup website to see if that white yorkie was there but it's not. They have a lot of mixed breed puppies at high prices. Doxi/chi cross for $1500! Some of those cross puppies they have look so wierd, I can't believe the prices. I wonder if there is a way to get a picture of the albino yorkie??? put your husband up to asking for a picture :D |
There was a puppy claimed to be a "white yorkie" on Diva pup, actully two of them a male and a female. When it came down to it we found out the puppy was actully 3/4 maltese and 1/4 yorkie. They actully had moved it to the maltese page last time I checked. I think they ask so much money for it because no offense but ignorant people are willing to pay it, for something they believe to be rare. It isnt rare, it isnt speacial, and it certianly shouldnt be $3500.00. Yes all puppies and dogs are loveable and nice, but I would not spend that kind of money on a mixed breed dog. As far as an albino, rare yes but the possiblilty is there, as it is for anything, but it would have very bad health issues, all true albinos do. If it is a heathly dog, I would bet money that it is not a true purebred yorkie. |
Well albino yorkies got me searching the web, I couldn't find one photo of an albino yorkie anywhere, what so ever. I searched them all. I even went to animal planet. So if there is one out there, they are keeping it a big secret. |
Don't albino animals have red eyes, not blue? |

Heck I was wondering that three that is why I went searching. I just had an idea though. Think I will search the library of Congress. If they still let you. Use to jump off a gopher and link in, can't do that anymore, just have to try the front door this time. |
Guess what even the Library of Congress doesn't have an albino Yorkie in the whole place. I even researched albino animals. Dang I so wanted to see one. |
I am sure there can be albino yorkies and they would be very rare, just as anything albino is rare. Biewers are "rare" too in the fact that there are not very many of them yet. They are derived directly from breed standard yorkies with recessive colors in thier heritage. People like anything that's "different" and the prices people will pay support that. If it's "different" and cute, and they are just looking for a pet, they don't care if it's a mixed breed or an unusual color, and they will pay extra for unusual and different if they have the money to spend. That's the way the free market system works. JMHO. |
Please, oh, please. Invite them over with their albino Yorkie for a play date. Take pics..This is killin' me!!! We have had albino rabbits. We have had blue-eyed hotots. The eyes were the difference in them. Wonder what genetics are involved in making an albino in Yorkies... |
I was one of the people involved in the "White Yorkie" post and I was the one who e-mailed diva pup to see if it was purebred. They e-ailed me back telling me that this "White Yorkie" was 3/4 Matese and 1/4 Yorkie. Her name is Opal for $3250: http://divapup.com/Opala.jpg Also, they just recently placed a "Blonde Yorkie" on the site for $7500! Plus, the puppy is brown to me. The parents are Dam:Yorkie and Sire:Maltese: http://divapup.com/puppie2160a.jpg They also have a Maltese on there listed with "One Blue Eye" (The right one. It's hard to see cause her hair is blocking her eye) for $2950: http://divapup.com/Missyblueeyedbaby.JPG These people are outrageous! Sorry the pics are so big! |
A friend of mine has a white/grayish yorkie, it looks like a full yorkie, but I dont know personally if it is, but it looks really unique. It does not look like the above pictures at all, nor does it look anything like a Maltese. I wonder what it is! |
Different, rare whatever, I can't afford prices like that, yes there was one under maltese, but I don't think it was white. Like I said, I'm gonna see it and take a pic and post it on here!!!!! |
Anyone who is stupid enough to buy that puppy and pay that price deserves everything they get.. Can you imagine? You can complete the adoption of a human baby for that price. BTW, I am not referring to you. I know you are not buying.. That puppy will be listed next week as a tri-color and a few more bucks will be added.. |
Oh my...i don;t doubt there can be a albino yorkie, but it would soon die...sorry to say but i donnot believe a albino yorkie would survive for long. |
Big bucks in the making So, in other words... if they have some sort of specialty to them you can get big bucks!!! Alright!!! I have a 1/2 rottie and 1/2 German Shep out running around my front yard!!!! I'm gonna be rich!!! And my mom has a 1/2 Chi and 1/2 doxie, big money there too!!!!!! I saw the "blonde" yorkie, but it still isn't a WHOLE yorkie, am I right fellow lovers. Sure I'd take it in a heartbeat, maybe pay $150.00 for it, but their prices are ridiculous!!! I have a friend who's Yorkie got (accident) pregnant by a full blooded male Maltese...maybe she should reconsider their selling price!!!! :thumbs_up. Are you reading this Redneckwoman & Baylee!!!!! |
puppy That mixed Yorkie/Maltese is a doll baby..but the price is as much if not more then a show prospect of either breed. I hope you get a pic of the albino pup... |
Dang didn't realize until now that Tahni 1/2 chow 1/2 Shepard was worth some dough. I am with you She-ra's Mama. My son took one look at the photo of the 3/4 maltese and 1/4 yorkie -white one and said its still not as cute as Sydnee in the face. OK so he earned kudos with the Mom. ;) |
http://members.cox.net/yorkierescue/Yhistory.html That's the only thing I could find about an Albino Yorkie.......down the page, his name is Groover and I am not sure he is a yorkie.....they first said Albino Yorkie. |
i now understand why those mixed puppies in the photos cost so much. did ya'll see the womans ring on her finger. :D |
Yep!!!!! Wish mine was half that size!!! |
Angela I went to that site and was reading and reading and crying and crying those poor babies. Just some people should be shot or eradicated from the face of the planet for the things that they do to others and to the helpless especially; whether its animal or human. |
white yorkie amandabeth i'm here an read my lips it ain't a yorkie :p An gosh baylee's pups would make me rich if i was not wanting her babies to go to wonderful homes i guess 200.00 is cheap but i would not sell them to a nut i want them to have wonderful homes its hard not to keep one but , i don't need a houseful an i know there are people who could get the same love from her babies as i do baylee she is the joy of my life . :aimeeyork |
albino or not albino... pics to come over next couple weeks I have had my 4th litter of yokies, this will be the 1st for this mom however. The parents are both AKC and DNA tested with champinship bloodlines. These parents are pet quality as per breed standard. They weight 8 and 81/2 pounds so they dont meet show quality (3 -7 lbs). (my personal preference anyway, less heath problems then found in the tinier ones). Back to my question, comment, concern, one of the 2 was born a light grey/sliver like no other yorkie pup i have ever seen. They just started to open their eyes yeasterday and sure enough it appears as a lighter blue. Time will tell me more. i can add pics as the thread goes on, however i am not sure how to do it. |
