Bug Diet?!?! So lately there have been some bugs in our backyard during the late evenings that look like flying beans....(I guess they are some sort of beetle????) Well Bella seems to be enjoying catching them and eating them! It's so disgusting...I try to make her spit it out but of course she only chews faster....yuk! She goes potty in the backyard so it's hard not to let her out because we think she has to go! She seems to be fine...no throwing up, eating her food, playing, etc. Is it something I should be concerned about? Do your dogs eat bugs???

Only when she can catch them . Actually, I got a big kick out of watching her attack an ant last night! It was one of these teeny tiny black ants, and it was on the concrete, not the grass. I was surprised that Bailey even noticed it, but she kept herding it around and trying to bite it, but it was too small for her to catch. It was funny to watch, though.

OMG! Last night I'm sitting on the couch and Pixie and one of the cat start chasing something on the floor... It's a freekin' centipede! YUCK! They are the creepiest of creepy bugs... Well Pixie decides she's gonna eat it. Fortunately, she just chewed a couple times (enough to kill it for me) and then spit it out.... That was just too gross for me.

| Punkin loves bugs! She'll just munch away. I have a weak stomach and I gag. I try and discourage it - but it makes it even more exciting for her. She eats worms...dead or alive, ants etc. Knock on wood they haven't made her sick yet.

Yorkies are MIGHTY hunters. Not many of us have rodents running around, so the poor little dears have to settle for bugs and frogs. Chattie is my hunter -- her prey of choice are frogs.

| Ha-ha! Maybe they're high in protein? June bugs - that's what she's eating. Muffin, unfortunately, loved them, too. They never made her sick, but it sure did make me sick!

ok this is gross but hilarious at the same time! yesterday morning my princess was pawing at something on the floor so i look it's a huge coackroach! ewww. well she playing with it pawing at it jumping around and such but not trying to eat it so i let her play with the nasty booger. then i keep watching...for some reason she decides to roll on this roach! ok then she is flopping over and rubbing her head on top of this nasty bugg but still not eating it. so i let her play! after he stops moving and is pretty much squished she gets bored and goes to find something else to do! i pick it up and toss it in the garbage! note to self make hubby spray for bugs like i have been asking him to for about 6 months now! also she come across all kinds of other bugs to terrorize sometimes! yay the country life! but she doesn't try to eat them maybe they just aren't as good as the treats and cookies and she doesn't wanna ruin her appetite?! buggin pic below http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/5...16804aa.th.jpg oh i have a toddler also so nothing much grosses me out anymore i have developed a VERY strong stomach !

My Teddi LOVES June bugs. He sits at the back door and waits for them to light on the screen. Then he wants O.U.T. - and out he goes to chase and EAT them. He's hilarious when he's on their scent - but it makes me "ick" and I try to discourage him . . . like it does any good! Ha! Last night he brought me his first "rodent." It was a little gray shrew and he was in 7th heaven! When I'd try to get it from him he run away with it, drop it, then dare me to come after it! Finally with DH's help, we got it away from him and ditched it. I'm not sure whether he killed it himself or found it dead and thought he keep it as a toy! At 5 months old, Teddi has just found his voice and is forever growling or barking at me for attention! What a nut case! Then all he wants is to be in my lap and nibbling on my fingers or my jewelry! I wish he'd lose those needle-like puppy teeth! Yowza they hurt! When should he start to get his adult teeth? Also, I had him neutered a couple weeks ago. They put an Elizabethian collar on him . . . poor little thing. He couldn't even stand up with it on! I took it off him and got him a pair of "pants" to wear so he wouldn't bother his stitches. What were those people thinking . . . that he could wear that horrid thing for 10 days?? pfft!

Rocky loves to get after June bugs, but the bugs usually latch onto his nose and he freaks out. One time, one got on his pee-pee. It was pretty funny I would have to say. This week I keep finding dead baby crickets all of the house. I think Rocky is sniffing them out in the back yard and brings them inside from mommy. Rocky like frog also, but I yell at him to stay of from them. I think they gross!!!

Ha Ha this is funny. Katy loves bugs and frogs too! June bugs are ok, but crickets are her favorite. She will slap her paw on the ground and make them jump. When she has damaged their little legs too much and they don't jump any more she will put them up with her mouth and toss them in the air to make them jump. When she all done she will eat them. ewww. I blame it all on Daddy for encouraging her with this. When he sees one that she missed, he will call her to watch her play.
