In summary, I am thinking about purchasing a three year old Yorkie. What type of vaccinations do I need to ask the breeder if this dog has had? Rabies, etc. Also, should she have the paperwork showing that this has been done? Thanks everyone. Kate

For piece of mind, I'd ask for papers verifying what shots were done and when. A reputable seller should have that information...

				   | I just spent 1/2 hour on the phone with the breeder. I like her alot. This Yorkie has had her rabies shot, but is due for a booster. Is there any other type of shots I need to ask about? I am going to her home tomorrow, and just got back from Walmart and purchased some stuffed animals, a Pet Taxi to bring her home in, and a kennel that measures 24"x18"x21". It says it is for a medium dog, so I hope I got the correct size. She will have the papers ready for me. I just hope I am not disappointed as I don't want to come home without a Yorkie. My parents will be taking me, so this doll should be in good hands. Many thanks. Kate Quote:

Inquiring minds want to know..... Did you pick up your baby? Did she whisper to you what name she wants you to call her? (I do know that my Maggie, who was supposed to have another name entirely: "Puddin"...as in Yorkshire Puddin'...was most definate in telling me that she would really prefer to be called MaggieAnne.) Are you in love yet?????????????

Congrat on your new yorkie. I don't think the owner would keep records of her vet visits. However, you can ask her for her vets name and phone number get her records from them. And it probably will not hurt to take her to your vet to introduce her to your vet, and to get her check out for your peace of mind.
