How often do you feed your dog?

This is a great thread. I had big dogs before Katy and I have always worried about her eating habits.

Sometimes, she will eat 1/4 cup of dry in the morning and one in the evening. Sometimes, nothing. She is a very picky eater. She loves the Royal Cann dry but sometimes, she simply is not hungry. I have never had a dog that would turn there nose up at steak before but Katy does when she is not hungry.

Oscars Mommy hit it right on the head. They don't over eat. (Of couse she could be getting lots of protein from bugs, she thinks its her mission in life to catch and play with everyone within her sight.)

Up at 6:30, outside then eat. Food goes up at 7:00. She has half hour to eat.

Next feeding 3:00 (when I will be getting home from school) food up at 3:30.

I take her out 45 minutes after she eats to do her thing. If she doesn't I take her out every 1/2 hour until she stools. She is 5 months old and weighs 2.5 lbs. She also takes a multivitamin.

We needed to get Penny on a schedule quickly because of our work schedules. Leaving the bowl out for 30 minutes and then putting it away worked wonders for us! Good luck... it shouldn't take long before she's on the schedule.

i leave food out all the time! maybe that's why all my pets are so fat hehehe even my guppy fish. lol

Thank you all so much for your responses! I didn't expect such details but am SOOO very glad you gave them to me.

I think I am starting to get nervous about bringing Oliver home and want to make sure I do everything right.
