| Am I lucky or is it too early to count my blessings?? Scampers is almost 6 months old and he has never once lifted his leg, he only squats. He does not mark on things or go crazy peeing everywhere. He does not do much of the humping thing other than on a occassion he will hump the other female dogs but he does not even do that very much. No aggression or other male like behavior. He is not neutered and both of his testicles have dropped so he is sexually mature in that sense. He is such a teddy bear that loves to cuddle and shows no common behaviors like alot of male dogs do. So am I lucky, does anyone have a male that does not lift his leg or any of the other behaviors or am I just counting my blessings too soon???

| I think if he is unneutered and you have females it is only a matter of time before he marks. Chachi is neutered and never marks

| I would definitely consider yourself lucky...........for now. With an unneuetered male around females, it will just be a matter of time. I'd start checking out the belly bands now unless he's trained to go outside.

| Loki was neutered at 6 months and never learned to lift his leg. He still squats. It helped that I only let him go on flat grass, never near anything sticking out of the ground.

| Well Tank is unneutered (until tomorrow) And he just started lifting his leg like two weeks ago and he just turned 7 months...... I'm just hoping he'll calm down a little bit after he's neutered..... he still gets a little too rough with Lucy Crystal

| Topher is 8 mos. now and was neutered last month. He never lifted his leg with the exception of ONE time when I took him out and he lifted his leg by a tree. He's never marked and never humped anything at all...we've been pretty lucky. |

| It's probably too early to count your blessings! Reuger didn't start marking and lifting his leg until he was about 10 months old. I was like you and thought that I wasn't going to have any problems with it either. I have been very fortunate that Reuger hasn't marked in the house but, maybe, once. It all started about the time that he got fully housebroken. Good luck!!

| Hobbs is 8 months old, doesn't mark (in fact, still squats to pee), and doesn't hump. But we got him neutered when he was 5.5 months old. If you want to preserve the "lady-like" qualities of your male, I would recommend getting him neutered. |

| Neutered male are very mannerly. ....just as long as you get them neutered early.........before they mature which is 7 months or before....??? And really.......probably better mannered the girls. Just my humble opinoin. |
