| when do the ears stand up? Hello, brand new to this site, I was wondering if you could tell me at what age a Yorkies ears should stand up? My puppy is coming to me in this month of June. the ears of these puppies arent standing up yet they are almost 10 weeks old. Is it normal for them not to stand up yet? thank you |

| Well, some yorkies' ears never stand up! Some yorkies will have both ears up, some will have both ears that always stay down, and some will have one ear up and one ear down! My yorkie's ear were standing up when we went to pick him up when he was 8 weeks old. But, it varies from yorkie to yorkie. My sister's yorkie has one ear up and one down, and my parents' yorkie has both ears down. If your puppy's ears never stand up, don't worry...it will still be a doll and you will love it just the same! Also try doing a search on this site for "ears." There has been much talk about it and I am sure you can find some good information by doing that. By the way, WELCOME TO YT! This is such a fun site. Please post pictures when you pick your baby up! |

| Welcome to YT! Hmm...Schatzi's ears were down at 12 weeks, so I started taping them and shaving the tips. At around 4 months they were up...but then they flopped down for a while. She is now 10 months and they're finally permanently up. Don't worry; even if they stay down, floppy ears are way cute

| Buttercup's ear was standing up at 10 weeks (if i'm not wrong) I've heard that some yorkies' ears flop when they are teething and every yorkie is different. My neighbor's yorkie's ear didn't stand up until 6 months. |

| Welcome to YT!!!! I really think it just depends on the yorkie. My first yorkie had his ears up at 6 weeks of age. Spencer is almost 12 weeks and his aren't up just yet. I can tell that they are trying to stand. Monday he gets his bordatella vaccination, so I'll be able to have him groomed....they'll shave the hair on his ears to help them stand. From my experience & other YT'ers, it's a case by case thing.

| Lucinda's ears were up, then down so I read recommendations on this site of how to tape them, which we followed. Aftr 2 days they were up and have stayed up and they are so cute!!! Oh, first we had the groomers trim them to lighten the weight and then taped them. It was easy and painless for her. |
