| Cost of Spaying Bailey is 3 months old, so we're looking ahead to having her spayed some time in the last part of July. Today we were at the vet and got a quote on the surgery. I was a little surprised at the amount. Including pre-op blood work and post-op pain medication, the quote was $382. What has it cost to have your little girl spayed? |

| It is so ironic you should bring this subject up. I just called Monday to my vet. inquiring on getting my male neutered. The priced jumped to over $200 and there was like a month wait. A co-worker of mine gave me a number to her vet. about 10 minutes from where I work and the total costs was $73...this included a distemper shot that he was now due for and the pain medication to bring home. Jake was neutered yesterday...only a day wait. The cost to spay at this vet. is $65. You should shop around most definitely. |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | It always amazes me how a two vets even a couple blocks away from each other's prices can vary so widely. Bunch of rip off artists.

| It cost me $50 to get Coco spayed. I took her to Tony LaRuss's Animal Rescue Foundation. The place was absolutely immaculate and the staff was amazing. You may want to look into a humane society or shelter, they offer good prices and MOST of them are there for the love of the animal, not money. Be sure to do your own research though. I researched the staff, made sure they used Isoflorin gas and even talked to past clients and I made sure they have worked on small animals.

| I got Jake neutered at a Spay and Neuter Clinic as well. They were so wonderful there and I checked into them as well. The staff was excellent...actually better than my regular vet. |

| I just talked to Kizzys vet Friday about spaying her in two months. He said $85 for spaying and I ask also about microchipping and that is $30. So, not too bad and it is with her regular vet whom I like so far.

| You should definitely check your local ASPCA. My friend asked her vet how much to spay her 4 pound poodle and the price was nearly 400 bucks. She went to the local ASPCA and got it done for only $25 plus a free rabies shot. |
