I've gotten used to Bailey jumping off the sofa (she has stairs, but if she's in a hurry, she'll jump off from wherever she is), but I'm constantly hovering on the edge of cardiac arrest when she manages to get on something higher. She seems to have little concern about jumping from almost any height. A couple of things we all learn with Yorkies - 1) They're a lot tougher than they look, and 2) In spite of that, they're still pretty fragile. |
1 Attachment(s) Poor Tiffany!! These guys and gals have got to be careful - how do you think Frodo got this cast??? Jumping/falling from a 5'4 platform! Luckily, ((just)) two broken bones in his leg/foot, and he gets the splint/cast off in another 2-3 weeks. I'm glad tiffany's okay!! :D |

Im glad Tiffany is okay and didnt get hurt. CHloe did this once. OUr couch is pushed up against a wall and its right in front (actually blocking) our fire place. So when chloe fell off the back she sort of landed in the fireplace(no fire of course but it was dirty) and it scared the crap out of me. BUt she walked away like nothing had happened. |
Mine did the exact same thing -- I have learned one thing -- anytime your pup is doing anything that scares you - never yell at them. This will only distract them and may, in itself, cause them to fall. Or it may keep them from attaining that "perfect landing" that your and my dog somehow managed to do. Just walk quietly over and "grab them." Lucky us! Carol Jean |
