| Big Yorkies ?? my 5-6 lb female had a liter of pups in dec. they are 6 months old now. The father is about 5-6 as well if not a lil smaller. I have recently been contacted about one of the pups. The owner is concered about it not being full blooded. I know for a fact there isn't a way for them not to be full blooded. He looks like ayorkie to me and granted he isn't small but he is still a yorkie. I kept one of the pups as well and will attach pics of both. My mother has the pups grandfather and he is 9-11 lbs he is beautiful but just bigger than soem others. that is this owners concern. Her vet told her he wasn't full blooded. Can you help just tell me your opinion does he look like a mutt or full blooded. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks. #1 is mine... #2 is the one in question actually the pics aren't in order the last one is mine. the first two are the other pup in question

size What people fail to understand is a litter does not take their size from the parents..they take it from the line in general..and it is quite common for a pup to get it's size from the grandaprents. Many genetic traits skip a generation...

My 6 month old yorkie (Sammy) weighs 10lbs. He overwhelms me with his cuteness! He is short, but kind of long in body. I don't know what he is going to weigh when he is done growing, but he sure is cute!

I purchased Jake in Dec. 05 and he was from a female weighing 5 pounds and a male weighing 4 pounds. I just took him to the vet. today to get neutered and he is already 9 pounds at 7 months old. The Vet. even predicts that he will gain a few more pounds before he stops growing. I have to admit that I was a bit upset in the beginning because I was expecting to have around a 6-7 pound yorkie but I totally love Jake and his size doesn't even matter to me. He is my teddy bear! I wouldn't trade him for the world.

Question: Does he seem to have a lot of white on him for his age? In the second picture his right paw looks white. But in #1 picture - it looks gold. In the second picture he looks like he has white freckles on his face. I am not sure - just going by the photos. Do you own the male that was used for stud? Do you know his pedigree? This is so important when breeding to know the ancestors, so you have a better idea what the pups will be like. It is not full proof, but gives you a better estimate. Does your female and the male (daddy) have papers - AKC? These are just questions to get a better idea. The pup is big, but cute! T.
