| ![]() Kizzy is happy, well rounded & friendly. One thing that concerns me. She will be running and playing here with her toys. She will run in a room and be shaking and growling with a toy in her mouth and its almost like she just falls down fast and will fall asleep within 5 seconds, sometimes still chewing on the toy. Hubby says hes never seen a dog fall asleep so quick and neither have I. Also, I got her at 6 weeks old. she has only woke me up 3 times during the night and that was when I first got her. In the mornings when hubby gets up to go to work at 5 or so, she never makes a sound. I mean he doesnt sneak around either. Its just as if we're all up. I am a sound sleeper, but I get up sometimes around 7:30 and walk right past her bed and go to the bathroom. come right back by her and crawl back in bed and go to sleep in about 5 seconds too but she still never lets on that anyone is up. She does not wake me up before 8:30 or so most times. Sometimes I hear her whine a little and just cant seem to get awake so she just shuts up and lays there. And apparently she goes back to sleep and when I get up maybe 30 minutes later she seems to be still asleep until she hears me call her name and start to unzip her soft crate to get her up. I tell everyone she was born just for me because I am a sound sleeper and I stay up late and sleep late and she lets me sleep till I get up. I've never seen a puppy (especially at 6 weeks old) that dont whimper or whine when ANYONE in the house gets up in the mornings be it 5 am or 7 am or any other time. But I just got concerned lately since she is almost 5 months old and goes to sleep so fast. Its like a car just suddenly runs out of gas and stops. She just finished up all her baby shots and was seeing the vet about every 3 weeks and he cks her over. He's never found anything wrong with her. Anyone ever had a puppy go to sleep this fast right in the middle of playing? I can understand it when she was 6,7,8 or so weeks old but at 5 months? Then again I have never understood why I sleep so sound and never hear things during the night. Been this way all my life and had a sister the same way. But I always heard my kids during the night if they woke up. But dogs are usually so alert. it seems weird to me even tho I appreciate her letting me sleep as long as I want. ![]()

| ![]() I don't know about the sleeping right in the middle of the act of playing but I know my MaeMae is a sleepyhead. She sleeps with me and my hubby is up at 7am and she won't even look up..... I sleep in and she just sleeps. Even when I get up late sometimes..... like 11am ![]() |

| ![]() No problem -- my dogs (and birds) (and cats) are the same way. They have all adjusted to my schedule --- and I am a real night owl. Not one of them every wakes me up early in the morning. They all sleep away until I'm ready to get up -- around 9:30 or 10:00 or so...... Consider yourself lucky!!!!!! Remember that all these animals sleep 10 to 16 hours a day anyway - so, it is especially wonderful if they adjust to your schedule. PS: I work nights and evenings !!! Carol Jean |
