| I am so sad I just came back from the vet and she disgnosed Zoe with luxating Patella. I can't bear this. I was heartbroken when he got neutered 2 weeks ago and now this? He was limping since last night and I found out today. I will not schedule the surgery until I get a second opinion. My regular vet was not open so I went to another one and they didn't even take a X-Ray! I would want to see the problem and have a few opinions before I schedule the $1000.00 surgery. What do you guys think? What is the cause if luxating patella?

| Poor Zoe. If I'm not mistaken, I think luxating patellas are hereditary.

| You are in our thoughts Poor Zoe . Poor Mommy Good for you to go for a second opinion. I have read that this is a concern with this breed and I believe it is genetic too. Hang in there....

| Yeah, like Nicole said, LP is hereditary. I'm sure you know what it means, that the knee caps slip out of place. Just think of it this way, you found out soon enough to help him. One of my boys has had 3 surgeries now, and I was a nervous wreck for all of them, but he came out fine, and I'm sure yours will too! Getting another opinion is always a good idea too. Don't stress, he'll be fine!!

| I am so very sorry about Zoe and his luxating patella. I would absolutely positively get a second opinion before jumping into a surgery. Sending hugs |

| My vet refered me to an orthopedist because she diagnostics a luxating patella on N'Stein. The ortho said that as long as he doesn't suffer from that he didn't recommended the operation, because it very expensive and risky with the anesthesia. If ever my baby had any pain then he will give him some medication So I think it will be a good idea to see a specialist or another vet.

| Oh I'm sorry to hear that, I'd get a second opinion also, it can't hurt, to have another vets advise.
