| A hawk literally almost knocked me over trying to get to a small quail in front of me. The hawk came from behind me and actually ran its wing through my hair -- to get to the quail that was only 3 or 4 feet in front of me. So -- I know that even our being very close to our little dogs won't keep a hawk from diving down to pick them up. ----------------- This is really the main reason that I am so glad that my little guy is a "big little Yorkies" -- probably 8 or 9 pounds. I am hoping that this might be a little big for a hawk to go after. Yes - let's be careful! Carol Jean |

| I guess I am lucky to live where I do. There are no owls or hawks or any big bird. No racoons, foxes, come to think of it, other than cats and dogs and some small birds like robins there is no other wildlife. The only thing I have to watch is for a dog in to my yard, that and blue jays. Blue jays may not be able to pick them up but they are mean and will pick on them. I don't what I would do if I lived where there are big birds of prey...

| I've never really seen any prey type birds around here. and my boys are both 10-11 lbs. Do you think a Hawk/Owl would even try for something so big?

| This is crazy! I never thought birds could be a problem for yorkies. I dont think we have that many predator birds in IL...Patti do you know if we do in this area? I've seen a few hawks every now and then, but its so rare that when u do see one its a big deal. |
