| What's a girl to do????? I want to be the proud parent of a yorkie baby girl!!Here is my dilema.I have heard several different things when looking for a new pup. For exampleo not go to pet store or get out of newspaper. I have been watching my local paper. I have been to about 5 different breeders out of the paper ultimately not leaving with a pup.The reasons for that would be a whole other topic.I know that I want to breed my Yorkie in the future.I did find a couple people I felt comfortable getting a Yorkie from on the YTCA website. The only problem is they want a contract saying you won't breed. After what I have been through I know there is a need for quality breeders. How do I get started???Please help!! |

| I'm so sorry you haven't gotten many replies, there are so many on this forum some get skipped over. But you have heard right, NEVER buy from pet stores or people you don't think take the best care possible of their dogs. I'm sure you will find a great breeder, try to find someone who knows you want to breed so they can be somewhat of a "mentor" for you especially if you have never done this before. Breeding is a biiiiig deal, that is why many breeders make you sign a pet contract. Also, they want to keep track of their lines. Good luck in your search and welcome to YT!

| I don't know anything about breeding either! Sorry! You could try looking under the "breeders" section on YorkieTalk. I've never been there because I don't breed, but there is bound to be some info on there! I am sure if you do a simple google search that you will get some good information to get started on. I just think that "getting started breeding" is such a huge topic that there is no way that someone can explain it to you on a post. You know? Maybe if you did a google search and came up with some more specific questions then you will get more replies. GOOD LUCK finding a little bitty baby, and WELCOME to YorkieTalk! You will find a lot of good information here. |
