| Yorkie's Swim? I was just wondering if your Yorkies actually swim or just wade in the water? Josie loves to get wet and take baths, but I have never had her in deep enough water to see if she knows how to swim. Also does anyone have a life jacket for their baby and if you do, how do they like it?

| Knowing how to swim is natural for dogs, but not all like it. Mine definitely prefer floating on a mat with me when I'm in the pool. They will jump in and swim to me, but then seem content to just stay on the float with mommy. |

| Juliet can swim... Juliet has a habbit of jumping into the swimming pool and swimming around. SHe is quite the little swimmer! It is funny to watch her and she knows not to jump in the pool unless someone says jump or when we are in it. I still watch her at all times but it is fun! :-) She can also swim in the bathtub and likes to. If the water is too low she has fits and barks until I add more. lol. ~Tru

| When we first got BUttercup, we let him in the swimming pool with us and he just started swimming. We don't let him swim with us any more because I'm afraid that he'll drown so we now put him in the hot tub (with the heater off) right next to the swimming pool which is only 3 feet deep and about 4 feet wide with my son. I think it's natural for dogs to know how to swim |

| Yes, we had to search on ebay for an XXS. And it does have the handle. He didn't like it at first but I took him on walks in it to get him used to it since he loves walks so much and that helped |

| We got my guy a life jacket at a boating goods store. It has adjustable straps and fits him fine (he is about 10 lbs.). It has the "handle" on the top, so you can grab him with the boat hook. He doesn't mind wearing it. I have another question though - does anybody have a problem with their guy barking when they are in the pool? Ike runs around the pool hysterical whenever someone goes in. I've tried carrying him in and going slow, but it didn't work. Any suggestions? |

| If you go on website jbpet.com they have a couple of life jackets to choose from. I got a orange one with a strap on the top so we could hook her with the boat hook if she ever went over. And not all dogs can swim. It doesnt come naturally. My dobes brother swims like crazy, and the first time we put remmy in the in ground pool he sunk like a stone to the deep end. My husband had to jump in the bring him up. Some get it and some dont.

| When Lucy was 5-8 months or so we had a pool and let her try to swim..she would try but eventually she would sink..she just didn't have enough leg power at that age..and the xs floatation vest for doggies was still too big,but I haven't had the opportunity to see how well she can do now since she is and adult..I am sure they can swim ( it is an instinct)but for how long I don't know..

I bought a kiddie pool for the girls to cool off in the summer and to play and chloe swims so beautifully. Its dog's instinct to swim. I bought a life jacket for her for when we go camping and mine doesnt actually fit . I got to find a life jacket for a 3 lb dog.
