This was a really fun thread. You always see the same people, like Paris Hilton, with her yorkie, but I was always curious what other celebs had them, too. The links with all the pics were cool.

I agree, this thread was fun and cool seeing all the celebs that have Yorkies. But what about celeb Yorkies? Just curious, has anyone read the book about Smoky?

Smoky was a four pound Yorkie that was found in an abandoned jungle foxhole in New Guinea in early 1944. Smoky was found by 20-year-old PFC Bill Wynne. Bill and Smoky flew combat missions and went through many air raids together. Bill trained her to do over two hundred tricks and commands. In addition to being the most famous rescue, Smoky is the first therapy dog on record starting with serving battlefield casualties at the 233rd Station Hospital in New Guinea in 1944. After the war, Bill and Smoky performed on stage, pioneered live TV and continued doing shows at military and civilian hospitals, orphanages and nursing homes for 10 years after the war. Smoky is the most famous WWII War Dog.

It is really a neat book if you ever get the chance to read it.

Thanks for adding the pics. A girl I work with has the one of Smoky in the helmet in her workstation. love that pic. She loaned me the book to read about a year ago. I thought it was a really neat story and who would have thought a Yorkie would be used during a war.

Rocko the Yorkie goes on tours with him. it helps with his depression. Robin's been known to say when his ADHD gets bad he'll play ball wiht Rocko and he'll chill out.

What is positive is that most of the dogs we have seen have been at least standard size of 4lbs - 7lbs or above.

I'm sure there are famous people who get the smaller dogs, but Its good to see that so far most of them are a good size animal.

Its very good for the cause against breeding the so called "teacup".
