| Any Yorkies with Full or long Coats? When ever I get lucky enough to see another Yorkie, they are either shaved completely down or a long full un-groomed coat. Both my male & female, Artie & Abigail have long or full "Groomed" coats year round regardless of the weather, w/c is a lot of work/high maintenance. I was just curious to know how many of you do the same? I know alot of Yorkie owners that don't want to deal with "Grooming" their Babies so they just shave it all off? So the question is are they "Buzzed" or are they prancing around with flowing hair, complete with a topnot/bow? |

| I have always kept mine in full coats and bows. I have never found it a chore, or considered it high maintenance. Still don’t understand why so many people think grooming a Yorkie is so much work. My Vet has always commented on how well kept my Yorkie is, compared to the many others that come in all tangled up. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I do hair and Bows EVERY DAY and I love taking care of them and their hair. Both my girls are in full coat with some maintenance by ME. they are little tomboys but if you keep up with their hair - it's pretty easy. this pic was taken last Halloween |

| I am curious as well to see replys to this post....Bailey is just 6 months and his beautiful adult coat is coming in nicely.....I have been debating with myself for a couple of weeks whether or not to cut it. Hubby says no because I adore a full coat and he knows it. Bailey's coat is so easy to care for, a good brush every day, (takes about 10-15 mins) and a bath are tidy about every week or so, depending on when it needs it. My reason for considering cutting it is the heat. So reply away folks , I am looking forward to reading everyone's thoughts.............red98vett....Your girls are so beautiful, I always do the "ooooo...ahhhhh...." when I see pictures of them.

| We did have the long flowing coat but I got tired of it and took it all off this week. I loved is long hair but I don't regret cutting it at all! I can take him outside to hang out with us now and not worry what's stuck to his hair when he comes in! LOL! I'll let it grow back for the winter. Maybe. But right now I'm loving not having to brush him everyday. He still has his topknot though.

| I keep Chachi in a puppy cut because he has cottony hair and it is easier to manage. I keep Jewels in a long coat though. I also have her groomed once a month at my groomers recommendation

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Coats I love....love the look of the long flowing coats. I dont' have much time to keep up with it though. Lex has been given a puppy cut with the long hair on his head still intact. When it gets cooler he will get back to being longer all over.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I always keep my Yorkies in long coat. Here's a pic of Cali who due to major surgery had a lot of her length and underneath hair chopped off but is on her way. The other is Gracie who has gone to the rainbow bridge in her full coat/

| I will always keep mine in long coats. My vet and I think someone else here on Yt said that the hair which we think would be hot actually protects them from the heat and the sun. So if this is the case then the only reason you would get your babies hair cut is if you just didn't want to keep up with the coat and find the summer cuts to be alot easier to manage.
