| What's your romantic Yorkie story? Here is mine... After 5 years of leading an educational hospitality facility in Praia, Capitol of the Capeverdian Islands (West Africa), I came to the USA to visit friends in Fremont, CA and was supposed to leave the country at 9/11/2001. Due to the tragic events I could not get on my flight out and had to stay a little longer. Just for the fun of it my friend Rita posted an ad for me in one of those one-and-only matchmaker pages knowing perfectly well that I was NOT looking for a husband or even boyfriend. But we had a lot of giggles and lols and it was just fun. One day I got a response to my ad and immediately accused my friend of constructing it to tease me because it was describing so exactly the kind of man it would have looked for if I would have been looking, that only somebody who knew me very well could have written that response. Rita denied and I sent back an email just out of curiosity. Two days later Michael and I met for lunch and I had the best time of my life. The next day he took me to San Francisco for the most amazing day with lunch at a waterfront restaurant, a visit to an old church where (coincidentally) a boy choir sung my favorite hymn (dona nobis pacem) and dinner at the Teatro ZinZanni. In our conversations he mentioned more that once (biiiig understatement!) his little Yorkie girl Mitzi, how much he loved her, how he raised her from a little pup all by himself, took 3 weeks of vacation when he got her, drove home every day at lunch time to walk her, and... and... and... To make a short story even shorter, two days later he asked me to marry him with the following words: "Will you marry me? I am ready to commit and you and Mitzi will be my life!" Who could resist such a proposal including the other love of his life, his Yorkie? Exactly one week after I heard from him the first time we got married in Reno and are happily married ever after. Now... what's your romantic Yorkie story? |

| I had been living with my bf for about 8 months and during that time, I had been bugging him about getting me a dog. I literally would work it into most conversations. I relocated to be with him and I made sure that we were allowed to have pets at our new condo. Well, I could tell that he was getting irritated with me. The day of November 12th, I met my girlfriend to go shopping about an 1 1/2 away from my house. We spent the day talking about how much I wanted a Yorkie puppy. I said I would be so mad if I did'nt get one for my birthday. Well, on the way home I had the same conversation with my brother's girlfriend. My bf travels sometimes with his job and I was only seeing him on the weekends for the first 6 months that we were living together. I thought a puppy would be nice company. Well I called my bf and he said he was shopping with his Mom. This irritated me because I could never get him to go to the mall with me. Then he said lets go to dinner and meet at our house first. I said "I'm hungry now." This was an argument for a couple of minutes. I could'nt understand why we could'nt just meet at a restaurant. Well his Mother finally shouts "I need to use the restroom okay." Okay! By the time I got to my house, I thought it was strange that I beat them there. They were closer to home than I was. Then there was a knock on the door and I thought that was strange since he has a key. Then his mother comes rushing in and Brian is turned around funny. When he turned, there she was wrapped in Brian's t-shirt. I immediately grabbed her and started loving on her. The way Brian tells it as soon as I got her, there were no thank you's, all I could focus on was her. Brian wanted to give her to me on my real birthday November 24. He had plans that his parents would just put her in a basket by our front door, but the seller could'nt wait. Brian is by far the best boyfriend I have ever had. He truly does give me anything I want.... Now if he would just tie a ring around Lola's neck and propose.... Sorry so long. Maybe this was'nt romantic to you guys, but to me Brian holding a puppy is just about the hottest thing. By the way, in the middle of the night, I catch Brian pulling Lola closer to him and kissing her and whispering I love you to her. That is so cute to me too.

| oooooooooooohhhhhhhhh that is so sweet. Oh Mitzi, I love your story .... your daddy must be so nice to share you with your mommy ... hey now you have a great family ... My story is now so upbeat! I came into my mommy's life 6 months after my daddy went to the Rainbow Bridge ... It was not expected that he wld leave ... he was in the hospytal quite awhile and then just left as Mommy was sitting with him ... (so sad) But now i am here to cheer Momma up. I have a 2 legged sister ... she is nice, she takes me for walkies ... Momma does sometimes, she mainly take me in the car-car! So give your momma a big kiss for me and I am so happy to have a new friend (especially one like you) xxoo, Monday |

| awww, everyone's stories are so sweet! Pippa was meant as a romantic gift, but this story takes a turn! Yorkie baby Pippa was 12 weeks old when she was snatched from her momma and taken to the Wal-Mart parking lot in a small town in Arkansas. A boy called and said he wanted her for his girlfriend as a Christmas/Birthday gift. Pippa's "breeder" didn't ask any quetions, I guess she just wanted money. The boy showed up in an old beat up truck and paid $500.00 for Pippa and she went for a 2 and 1/2 hour ride in that old truck. It was old cold, December night when Pippa made it to the girlfriend's house. The boyfriend walked in the door and handed the girlfriend a tiny, wild-eyed yorkie. Of course she oooohed and ahhhhh'd and thank you'd. The girlfriend's parents did not have any pets except an old tom cat, and the boy didn't even ask the parents if a live puppy would be ok to give to their daughter. At first, the girlfriend's mom was upset....how dumb to come in here and give her a real puppy....mom was going to have to take care of it, you know....then she looked at baby Pippa and melted. Pippa was only content to be with the mom. Soon, Pippa and the girlfriends mom were inseparable. The mom couldn't go anywhere without little Pippa following. They were IN LOVE. This made the girlfriend kind of mad and jealous. In about a month, the girlfriend got tired of the boyfriend (he was dumb, anyway!) and told him to hit the road...she said, "I gave the Yorkie to my mom, anyway". THE END P.S. Looking back, I'm so glad for Pippa's sake that she has a good home. I often wonder how her brothers and sisters fared, being sold in a wal-mart parking lot. I fell in love with Pippa so much that I got Scout when Pipp was about a year old. I did research and found a reputable breeder who put me through an interview herself!

| Mischa I had begged for a 2nd yorkie for about 6 months. My husband said "no way no way no way! One is enough!" Anyhow, the day before my 25th bday, I gave Esme a bath. I was in the bathroom blowdrying her when my husband came home from work. He walked in and said "hello!" I replied "hi" but didn't come out of the bathroom. Then I heard him shout, "What is that???!" I ran out of the bathroom thinking there was a frog or something crazy in the house. When I stepped into my dining room, with Esme right beside me, we saw the TINIEST yorkie baby ever! I was in SHOCK! The puppy was sniffing around everywhere and then she went under the couch. Esme was right behind her sniffing her too!!! I was in complete and total shock because it was the last thing I ever expected. Hubby had said no for so long that I was convinced he was never going to give in. I said, "That's impossible! Is she really mine?" My husband said, "if you want her." And so that is the story of how I got my second yorkie. It's by far the sweetest thing hubby has ever done!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Those are all such wonderful and romantic stories. I wish I had one to tell! I have always wanted to be surprised with a puppy! My husband can't shop for anything much less a puppy. But he did drive me 3 1/2 hours to go Cali's breeder twice.

| I've always wanted a Yorkie since i was 16, and since my boyfriend and i had been together for about a year, I begged him that I wanted a yorkie pup as an anniversary gift. He ignored me which ticked me off, but he still seemed a tad bit intrested. So...the day of our anniversary we swicthed gifts, but all I recieved was a pink watch that had a yorkie in it! I was highly disappointed and hurt, but you know I had to put on a fake smile. After we ate dinner, we went back to his house to watch movies. As soon as we were settled, a knock was to his door. When he opened it, a woman dressed in a dog suit walked in holding a Yorkie puppy with a pink bow wrapped around her neck. I instantly started crying! It was s darn cute, and very creative! It turns out, the puppy was born on my birthday May 29th! That was sweet! Zoey will turn 1 on August 12th, and I couldn't be happier! She's daddy's little girl. They do everything together! |

| Texas Style I'm sure you may have a hard time seeing the romance in this if you are not from Texas but my husband went to his favorite saddle shop and had them make a tiny little leash for Little Bit. That was quite a step for him since he doesn't shop at all and had said that we didn't need the puppy ( who, of course, loves him more than me)@ Donna |
