My older girl Zoe' weighs 10 to 10 1/2 pounds and she is 2 years old. Her mom weighed 6 to 7 pounds and her dad weighed 4 to 5 pounds. Everyone told me to double her weight at 16 weeks which is about 4 months. She weighed 4 pounds and 2 ounces then. I would guess yours will probably be in the 8-10 pound range.

You just have to kinda wait and see though. Like everyone says there is no way to really predict.

In some of the other threads it says to double the weight at 12 weeks and add 1lb.
my oscar is fat and soo round he waddles like a cow. I'm hoping he isn't quite so big once he's finished growing. he weighs 5lbs now at 13 weeks so that would put the estimate at atound 11lbs.

Did they give you a reason why you shouldn't breed or just tell you not to? I know for us a larger yorkie was what we were looking for.

oops got one of the parrot on there too and dont' know how to get that one off there. they're closr to the same size no tho.

I have an aviary and raise parrotlets, world's smallest parrots. That is one big baby bird what is it. A parrotlet is between the size of a finch and a parakeet. They are great companion birds.

A coke can goes up to my 4 month olds top shoulder blade while sitting and I expect her to be high 5's or low 6's. She is 3 pounds on the dot right now.

the parrot is a greenwing macaw she's one of the biggest parrots.She's still handfeeding and will be for a couple more months on may 28th she will be 3 months old I can't remember for sure but I think she' sthe biggest macaw the hynith may be bigger but I"m not sure.
we tried raising quaker parrots but they didn't do very well. they go nervous around the dogs and that shrill scream they had. Nothing in the world like a quaker scream.
Oscar is right at 5 lbs now so that should give you an idea about size if that's how big you think yours will be.

Preston is exactly 7 months and hasn't grown at all in 3 weeks.

Hard to tell. I've heard you double the weight at 12 weeks. I'm thinking he might be around 6 pounds. Also you have to look at bone structure. Did you see pictures of his parents?

Hi! I guess we are on the exact same boat. Malibu is my first Yorkie. She is 4 1/2 months and weighs 4.5 lbs. I am so sad! I asked the breeder MANY questions, and her dad was 3.5 lbs and mom was 5.5 lbs and she was supposed to stay around 5 lbs but I highly doubt it now. I also got her over the net. She came all the way from Nebraska. It's not that I don't like big dogs, on the contrary, I grew up with huge dogs, german shepherds and Great Danes, but I got a Yorkie to be a "purse size" dog, that I could easily carry in one arm and take everywhere with me. Otherwise I would have stuck to the breeds I know better and paid a lot less for the puppy. Malibu has short legs, tiny paws and a VERY full coat. She is beautiful with a short snout and teddy bear face. And she is so sweet and loving, I would never complain or exchange her. I love her! I just wish she would be very small so I could take her everywhere with me. I know a lot of people here have big Yorkies, and some people get mad when people like me are obcessed with small ones. But I can't change how I feel, and I go by the standard which says they should be under 7 lbs. I do think the smaller the cuter they are!

Maybe our dogs will stop growing soon.

I hope you all get the size you are hoping for. I do LOVE my bigger Yorkie but I am also looking for a tiny "adult" to rescue! I just love the breed, no matter what their size! Tootie is so happy all the time!

well, Kizzys mom and dad were 5 and lil over 4 respectively but Kizzy is 4 months old and weighs lil over 5 lbs now. But the vet doesnt think she will get taller but maybe fill out a lil more. She doesnt look big to me. But guess I have to wait and see if she grows much more, he doesnt think she'll be over 7 lbs. maybe he is going by her bone structure. I love her anyway as I think we all get attached fast to these puppies.

My furbabies Mom is 10lbs and her Dad is 6 lbs. Sadie weighs 5.5 lbs. I have read that if you double their weight at 3 months you can get an approximate adult weight. I have a neighbor that has a 10 lb yorkie boy...he is adorable! He really doesn't seem to be all that big..As for "teacup yorkie"!!!!! no such a thing! Breeders like to use this term to get more $$$....Yorkies's are a toy breed. Some are smaller than others...that's all.

hi, i'm new to the forum! just wanted to ask my little ella will be 5 months old on the 19th of this month & weighs in at about 2lbs. what would her adult weight be estimated at? we can't even find cute clothes to fit her at this point!!
