How often do you bathe your dog??

When Sully was a puppy (he's 8mo. old now) - we used to give him several baths a week. Out of necssity....kennel training him made a mess sometimes (a really gross mess if you get my drift).

Since Sully has mastered the art of peeing OUTSIDE (yaay) as well as other behaviours, he only gets a bath every week or week-and-a-half. This works just fine for him now.

However, when we used to bathe him more than once a week he would get dandruff.

If it's raining or his coat looks dry? I spray him with a leave in Conditioner, Mink Oil so he won't get matted in between baths. I haven't had any skin problems with either one, so once a week seems to be fine?

I also use mink oil sometimes...i really like the results

In the summer we bathe Sweetie every week - but during the winter we only bathe her when she starts smelling like a hamster It gets so cold here sometimes that I just don't want her to even be slightly damp & have to go outside.
