| hi! hi everyone! <~~new person here=) my name is maria!~~ ok here's the story saturday i lost my first yorkie, my uncle was at my house and accidently ran my (scooby) over it was the worst day of my life! he was only 6 months old =*(! well i knew i couldn't live without another one...immediately after the burial i went to the pet shop and got another yorkie! everyone kept asking me why am i getting another one so fast and i couldnt answer except that i needed another one there! well i found a silky terrier 9 weeks old its go cute! and the crazy thing is he is exactly like my other dog isnt that crazy.. his name is baby =)...my question is when baby sleeps he tends to do alot of panting is that normal? its only when he sleeps i tried to give him water but he refuses.....help! |

| I'm sorry to hear about your first Yorkie! Welcome to the site! Does Baby pant at other times? Have you tried to let him lick water off of your fingers? I haven't heard of panting at sleep time before. |

| he only starts panting when he sleeps, yes he licks the water off my fingers but still continues to pant....! |

| Does he get a lot of exercise just before bed? Dogs pant because they have no sweat glands like we do, so whenever they are hot, they let it out through their mouth/tongue or whatnot. Perhaps just let him lick your finger a bit before bed is all I can suggest at this point... |

| yay! i took baby to the vet today...& hes ok the vet sad that its normal for the panting......so everything is fine he weighs 2.8 pounds!big guy! ill post pictures later on.. thankx for u help=) |
