Yes but he wants to know what breed his dog is. I dont think the AKC determines that.

I dont think the AKC does anything with DNA testing they just send out the dogs pedigree.

AKC will keep the DNA on record..and if the male sires any pups, they have DNA to compare to the pups if there is ever a dispute...what people fail to realize is...the pet owner pays for everything, not the breeder, not AKC when there is a dispute..if the breeder is proved in error, then the pet owner can recoup..

Not to mention the $500 it costs when an owner questions the sire of their dog. You prove the dog was not sired by a particular stud, you get the money back. If it can't be proved through DNA, you lose the $500.
