looks like a bad breeder?

I just don't understand how people who are going to put out money for a dog could go to a place like that and see the condition of these dogs and still hand over their money knowing these dogs don't look well. I would think these people would put themselves out of business by not being able to make any sales. I would hate to think that if it comes across this bad by a photo, what must it look like in person.

Rochelle, the lady from Breeders.net "justoocutecanines" use to live in Logansport, IN. I went to see her when I first started looking for Yorkies. Her place was deplorable. In her living room, she had all the puppies in cages stacked 3 high. There were 7 stacks of cages and 5 playpens with newborns in them and mothers about to give birth. She wouldn't let me in the dining room area, but when she went into that room, I looked as best I could and there was no furniture, just stacks and stacks of cages with Yorkies and Chihuahuas in them. She kept them all in short coats, because she has MS and can't take care of them very well. There was feces all around the cages in the living room that she just didn't feel well that day and didn't clean up. She gives her dogs their shots and they are not allowed to go outside. She keeps her doors and windows shut and covered so her neighbors wouldn't know how many dogs she had.

I after counting what was in the living room and estimating what was in the dining room, (she said she had some in the kitchen too) I came up with at least 89 dogs in her home. I hate being thought of as a snitch, but I called the Logansport Humane Society and Police. They did go to her place. She ended up going to live in Michigan and now I see she is back in Indiana. Tell everyone you know not to contact her, she will try to become your best friend and call you all the time. I thought I would never get rid of her, so instead of being mean to her, I got caller ID. I never hear from her now.

I can't believe she's at it again,..........so poor, poor babies!!!!!!

yorkie3, you 're not considered a "snitch" when your trying to protect the animals that are not able to protect themselves. If no-one reports them then we're part of the problem also. You did the right thing, and I bet you can sleep better knowing you did, and I thank you for doing so.

I think the aspca should be called on her again by the looks of those poor dogs. They need to be rescued by an organization that can find them all homes that really care for them and treat them like royalty the rest of there lives, instead of living in cages and in there own feces. I dont usually get upset very easily, but this makes me really sad.

It was one of the sources I used when searching for a pup. Some of the breeders listed there are good, some bad.

I think most people get caught up in a "puppy moment" and only care about the ones they are buying. As long as they are convinced that it is cute and will be healthy (?) they buy the pup. Especially if the price is right.

I wonder how many buyers really consider the conditions they are supporting by buying from poor breeders. I hope YT educates some people about buying from pet shops, commercial breeders AND backyard breeders. Anyone that buys from someone that mistreats their dogs and/or damages the breed is contributing to a huge problem.

Thank you very much. I did sleep better for awhile, but then when I heard she went to Michigan she had someone else here in Indiana take her dogs. I'm not sure if they are the same dogs, but the pictures and names are the same.

I was listed on Breeders.net while I had my puppies. I do know some excellent breeders who care for their dogs on that site. I do not know all of them of course, but I talked with a quite a few and most seemed very concerned, invited me to their home, have references and willing to answer any and all questions without hesitation. It is probably like any other site, some good, some bad.

It would be nice if someone in Rochelle's city (someone mentioned they live close) would go and see if it's as bad as it was in Logansport and report her again. I swear, that I smelled that awful smell all the way home (35 minutes from me) and when I got home, my son said I smelled bad.

I was expecting at least some pictures of cuddly, cute puppies but I actually yelped (and I'm at work) when I saw her dogs!

They just look soooo sad! They look like they're embarrassed to be shown because of the way she has kept them. They've lost their confidence...

So sad....

Well, she's def. not breeding standard Yorkies. Goliath is a cutie, but big. And the furbabies do look worn down. Poor things.
