Donating YT 30K Club Member | At 7 weeks and 13 ounces you have to get her to eat. Are you giving her Nutrical? have you tried giving her a little hamburger or chicken anything to get some food in her. My Cali went hypoglycemic from not eating and she was 9 weeks ols and 1 lb. I would call the vet as well. Good luck.

| Try mixing cottage cheese in with the food.

| It isn't unusual for new pups to go without eating but it is very dangerous for a tiny one like yours to go without calories. When I got Shelby, I gave her nutrical 3 times a day (about an inch) until I could get her to EAT. She nibbled at a little cottage cheese and she loved Natural Balance Meat roll. (go to petco and you might be able to find the 99 cent sample size). It's a very high quality dog food that dogs love as treats, shredded on dry food OR picky eaters have it as their food. Eventually I found a dry food (Nutro, lamb/rice) that she would eat but at first I dipped each piece in nutrical to get her started. You got this puppy at a very young age so you may have to force feed her with a syringe if she doesn't eat soon. Go to the breeder section and ask what they advise. Most of us didn't get pups until 12 weeks. good luck and keep us posted Last edited by shelbysmom; 04-29-2006 at 10:31 AM. |

| She is very tiny and very young! I would try to feed her anything at this point! You need to get some nutrical and try giving her that!

| Welcome to YT!!!! Paris sure is tiny. Is she drinking water? I would give her Nutrical, and cook her some chicken & rice, just small amounts. Are you giving her the same food as the Breeder used? Also, if you just got her yesterday, you should take her to your Vet for a check up. Best of luck to you. And please keep us posted.

| I had no problem with my new pup eating -- but I can certainly tell you that his favorite food was "Gerbers Chicken Stix" ..... much more than anything else I fed him. Make sure she drinks water - give her the Nutrical - and perhaps with moving, shots, and so on - her tummy is a little upset. Don't force food down her....let her stomach rest for a day....and I'll be she'll start eating soon. Good luck! Carol Jean |
