| How long is a non-docked yorkie tail? This may be a stupid question, but curiosity has got a hold on me and I simply must find the answer now. Chloe's tail is several inches long and Im wondering if it is not docked and if that is what the full length yorkie tail is or if yorkies whose tails havent been docked would have tails as long as chihuahua and that means her tail was docked, but not too short. either way I love her tail but I was just curious becasue of a thread started earlier this week with a yorkie with no tail. I think many other yorkies that I have seen have tails shorter than chloe's so I got curious. This might also explain why I never knew what to do with the hair on her tail when I was trying to keep her coat longer because it gets so long back there and there is so much tail so the hair does funny things. But anyways, My boxer's tail was docked and the hair doesnt grow on the end of it. But the hair DOES grow on the end of chloes. So does anyone know how long an undocked tail is?

| My Yorkie's tail isn't docked...YET! ;) It varies per Yorkie, but my experience is that if it's a full tail w/ no congenital defects (like a bobbed tail or a cork screw tail) then the full length is usually-if you uncurl the tail, the tip will reach the top of the hocks. |

| My baby is just over 3 months, 2 1/2 pounds and her undocked tail is almost 4 inches not counting the extra inch of hair on the end. |

| I have seen several yorkies without a docked tail and they all had long tails that curl up over the body. So yours is docked, it just wasn't docked as short as some. I have seen some docked to where there was very little tail at all to one that was a couple of inches long. As far as the hair goes it on depends on how the tail was docked. All lot a vets do it differently, you have to make the right cut with the right amount of skin. If it is not done properly, then they can have no hair growth on the end of the tail, thats what vets have told me. This is the case with my cocker, she has no hair on the end of her tail. My yorkies all have nice docked tails and with no hair missing.

| Gus's tail is 5 1/2 inches long. K-9, it reaches his ankle. Is that what hocks are?

I was wondering what that was too, lol. Okay well I guess chloe's tail is docked then, its just not really short like some that I have seen. Either way I just love the 3 inch tail that she has becasue its so cute when she wags it! Im also really impressed that I cant tell that it was docked at all like I can with my boxer. I guess Chloe's breeders had a good vet

| NZ's probably gonna ban docking tails There's a strengthening movement fighting tail docking in NZ. There's currently a bill before parliament that wants to make it illegal to dock tails except in the case of something actually damaging the tail. I have one york with a tail and one without. I like dougal's tail. it really shows his mood - although now that he's all shaved his tail looks as if it belongs to another dog cos it's still got a lot of hair (in comparison to his body). However dixie's little stump is just the cutest when she wiggles it sooooo much that it makes her bum wiggle too!
