| Questions about heat.... Hi all.,.. I hope I posted this in the right section.. If not.. I apologize...:-) Long time lurker here (Love to read when I have a few trimes here and there..lol) although I have posted a few times.... I have a few questions that I couldn't find any answers too.. although I do have an appointment with our vet.. I though I would ask here as well... Daisy my 1 year old Yorkie went into heat 3 weeks ago...I waited to have her fixed.. as she has Epilespy.. and is on Meds.. Our Dr.. wanted us to wait a bit until we had her fixed.. with her meds being the right dosage and all.,, and all....... so.. needless to say.. her cyle started... her cyle was normal.. and now at the end of her 3rd week.. 4 of her breasts are still swollen and lumpy?. kind of like mastitis?.. I had this when I breast fed my children so the feeling of her breast reminds mne of that...She did not show any symptons of false pregrancy.. and was NOT around any male dogs.. I only have females and she is an indoor dog.... At one time during her cycle all her breasts were swollen.. but most went down... This is what has me concerned as 4 of them are still swollen and the skin in tinged blueish around her nipple... Nothing comes out of her nipples.. No discharge.....Any comments would be appreciated.. although I will be seeing our vet tomorrow.... She is playing normal.. eating normal.... pooping and peeing normal too. I though I should add that as well..:-) Thanks...:-) Laurie |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | I would not worry about it. Have your vet check those out and all should be well. Chances are, the mammary gland swelled during her heat cycle.
