| Yorkie + A Lab = DRAMA? My roommate wants to get a labrador. I never let Kiwi around big dogs because of the horror stories i've heard. The lab will be a puppy, and hopefully if my roommate decides to get her we can train her from Day 1 to be gentle. I've heard of yorkies being around 4 doberman pinchers and being fine. Does anyone have a big dog and a yorkie? How do they get along? Thanks |

| I have a golden and she is very gentle with Alphy. My friend has a 1 year old very hyper choc lab who plays with Alphy, she's pretty good with her. Sometimes she gets a little over zealous but she hasn't hurt him yet.

| I don't think the lab'll be the problem We have friends with two golden retrievers and it is true love between Dixie (my little girl) and Merlin (their whopping ginormous male). Even as a puppy Merlin soon figured out he had to play gently with Dixie. |

| We have a choc lab and 2 yorkies. We got our lab before the girls so she was a little older. I know a young lab can be on the "wild" side in a playful manner, just keep an eye on them and teach the lab from the time your room mate get's the lab to be gentle on the baby. I still have to tell my lab that they are BABIES, tho i have to add that she is great with them, she loves them a little too much at times lol

| My parents have a 140 lb lab and a Yorkie. Maggie, the lab was 6 yrs old when they got Little Bit, the Yorkie. Sometimes Maggie gives LB an aggrevated grumpy cross between a growl and a bark to tell LB to settle down but otherwise they get along great. |

| We have a six year old chocolate lab named Gracie. She was five when we brought Max home and they do great together. She forgets her size sometimes but she doesn't have an aggresive bone in her body. Oh and Max doesn't notice the size difference at all.

| I have a medium-sized Golden Ret - She is 65 lbs. We got Sherman when the golden was 1 year old and they get along great! For the first 6 months, I never let them play unsupervised. Sherman gradually learned to watch out when Freddie gets too excited. But, Freddie has learned to be very gentle with him. They never like to be apart. Freddie seems to know that Sherman is fragile so she is very careful. It's really cute! |

| Any breeds of dogs can get along. My only concern would be --- getting a lab "pup." I've had a couple, and believe me, they are the most playful puppies with the "longest puppyhood" in the world. And, they aren't small...... But, with a lot of supervision for a long time - I'm sure it will work out. Good luck! Carol Jean |

| I have a doberman, parson russell, and nina. I think its all in the way you train the big guys. Mine knows to be gentle just from being around babies and receiving the proper training. Its all about the socialization before they are one.
