| Bald Spot from Rabies Vaccine Hi, So my little Capone has had a bald spot on his rear...this weekend I took him to the vet to find out the problem and she told me it was a reaction from the rabies vaccine (which he received awhile ago). My vet told me to put Vitamin E on it daily and along the tip of his ears...where hair is also starting to fall out a little bit. I am SO upset! He has a beautiful coat and it is just starting to get silky and steele blue colored. Does anyone know any other tricks to help him grow back his hair! The vet said it may never come back!!! Help! |

| I've never had this problem or heard of it, but I guess it does happen -here's a link to someone who experienced the same problem. http://www.extendedyears.com/community/12262.html |

| Gus has a bald spot from the rabies vaccination too. It is the size of a quarter but his hair does cover it up nicely. The hair will not grow back.

| At first I wasnt even going to have my 2 get rabies shots, but my vet tricked me and did it anyways. I told both doctors and all the vet techs I didnt want them to have rabies shots, but they gave them to them anyways without my consent. I was LIVID at first, but I got over it. I heard about all the side effects like this one and was scared of it. And, they are inside almost all the time. But, I was sure happy they got it because the other night I took them to the back yard and they ran around and all of a sudden found something. It was a small dying rabbit! I grabbed up the dogs as quick as I could and ran inside- I was so scared that they could get diseases. Thank god they got their shot- this rabbit was so sick it couldnt even stand up straight, just kind of slumped over with its eyes open. There is a reason why Vets want us to have our babies get vaccines I guess. |

Senior Yorkie Talker | Bald Spot from Rabies Vaccine I notice that several yorkie mommy's have posting about bald spot from rabies vaccine a friend of mine just posted out article about this yesterday on her Facebook and both of her Yorkie's have it from the rabies vaccine. My sister Prissy and I had our rabies shot back in May of 2013 Mommy and Daddy have been concerned about the bald spot sister has but I don't and we had our shots within minutes apart. Has anyone had any other problems. |

| Thankfully my Teasell did not get a bald spot from Rabies Vaccine. On the other hand she is highly allergic to most of the Vaccines. Nothing to watch a little one almost dying in front of your eyes. Glad it happened with in seconds of having the Rabies shot and her puppy shots so long ago. Now she has an allergy shot before Rabies shot that is if I do that. It was so scary.... |

| I dont know if this will help or not, but I had a dog that had a lot of bald spots. A trainer friend of mine told me to mix olive oil with water and put it in a spray bottle and spray it on the bald spots, then brush her, paying special attention to the bald spots with a soft brush twice a day. It worked, all of her hair grew back. but mind you hers want cause by the rabies shot. she was old and had really dry skin and was just going bald. the olive oil was a moisturizer, the brushing stimulated the hair follicles. If your vet is having you put the vitamins on it, maybe you dont need the olive oil but just keep doing that and bushing the spots with a soft brush . Worth a try right? |
