| My Yorkie won't play!!!! I wonder if anyone else has a yorkie that refuses to play with toys??? I've tried every type of toy I could think of -- the toy basket is overflowing!!! She's just not interested. Once in a while I can get her to play hide-and-seek but not very often and she does love to ride in the car. She's the 4th yorkie I've had and the very first who doesn't love the run around and play. I'm beginning to think there's a problem.... Any suggestions or input??? |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | First of all, WELCOME TO YT!!! How old is your baby??? My Gracie (over 2 years) has never played with toys. She just wasn't in to that kind of play. Rebel will be a year old in a couple of weeks. He plays with all of the toys. London plays when Rebel plays. Other than that, I wouldn't worry about it. Could just be her personality.

| buffy is a cutie pie! my romeo (3 yrs old) doesn't like toys either. he spends all day hiding treats and humping stuffed animals. we say if he can't eat it or hump it -he doesn't want it. i donated all his traditional little squaky toys and rope pulls to the local animal shelter. we play in different ways. i use my hands to play with him or chase him around. he luvs being chased! we also go for car rides and long walks. he just not a toy man. |

| I really think it hs a lot to do with her previous living environmentt. A lot of people don't let their Yorkies "play" with things. They want them to be like a little statue that doesn't do anymore than look cute!! I feel sorry for those people. They miss out on a tremendous mount of FUN!!! My male never played with anything before I got him. He was 1 1/2 when I bought him. He didn't play with any brothers or sisters. They had taken him away from his mom when he was about 6 weeks old. Ne never lerned to play. Now, he has his own way of playing, but none of the others seem to think he's playing. He growls and snarles at them. So he takes the toys and hides them along side of the couch. Every once and a while, someone will play tug-of-war with him, until he starts growling. Then he hides it again. He will play with me if I chase him. He seems to have fun doing that. All I can say is just try and get yours to play with whatever she want to. (Except TP of course!!) It doesn't have to be a toy. It can be an ice cube, or whatever they want to have fun with. Enjoy!!

| Welcome to YT! Buffy is adorable Simon isn't much of a toy guy either, he loves his soccer ball but refuses to play with anything else. He is happy though so Hallie gets all the toys and that makes her very happy! |

| My daisy (7) is the same way. Now granted, she was a kennel dog for 6 1/2 years before I got her, so she never probably had the "chance" to play much...but Ive tried almost everything too. she is just very laid back, and looks at a toy like, "what do I do?" I wouldn't say its anything wrong..just how some are! (But believe me, I wish she WERE playful!)

| Casper plays with his toys and seems to like a duck and nyla bones best. He will not play with us tho and has them in the dining room hidden under the table. If you leave one in another room he takes it and runs to his room. We took off his collar to give him a bath and he even grabbed that and ran it under the table with the rest of his things. |

| Our Hope doesn't play with toys - i gave them away to a friend with cats! She likes to fight with our socks, though! Took awhile to find this out (we got her as an adult! She also likes to ocassionally play with her food. She is real laid-back. Her favorite thing is to go places with us! |
