my pup sits funny
Hi everyone, I have a question! My yorkie is 7mths old and she sits funny! Sometimes she sits on her back end but most times she sits like she is going to pee. I have never seen a dog do this before. Does anyone elses dog do this? Thanks in advance. meeshue

Usually it means nothing. Sometimes it does. The best thing to do IMO is to teach your dog proper posture and correct her to sit properly as much as possible. All of my clients teach there dogs to sit properly-especially large breeds- to discourage any uneccesary stretching to the hips and knees. This will also promote muscle control and strength in the rear end.
This can sometimes be an indicator of bad hips or knees (depending on the position commonly found sitting in) and I would have your kid's range of motion and the tightness of those joints checked by your vet asap so you know what you need to do-if anything.
