| ![]() I just had to post to this message. Our sweet little Rexy is 13 weeks old. He goes "almost" everytime he hits the grass and my husband is home all day and takes him out very frequently, and we have a doggie door so he goes out a lot with the older dogs. So....... this means that he doesn't have very many accidents in the house - if fact, he may go 2-3 days with no accidents in the house - and we have wood and concrete floors, you can see the pee puddles, so it's not like it's hidden in the carpets. But..... I know full well, if my husband didn't take him out all the time and he didn't go out with the other dogs many many times a day, that he would be pottying in the house. They just don't quite "get it" at this age - but they will with time, patience, and consistency. Rexy has definitely been easier than Rowdy, but that is due to the doggie door which we did not have till Rowdy was about 5 months old. It made all the difference in the world - but I know that not everyone can have a doggie door! ![]() Don't fret, it WILL get better!

| ![]() Kizzy is almost 12 weeks old now. She will most always go out to poop but still having problems letting me know she has to tee tee. She will run around and whine and bark to poo poo. But to tee tee, sometimes she will kinda whine then other times I will find her at the back door but soooo quiet. sometimes I barely hear her at the door making like a squeaking sound. I always take her out anytime she acts like she wants to go. I ask her if she wants to outside tee tee and she will always speak for it for poo poo and most time to tee tee too if I ask her. But sometimes she either just forgets or dont have time to let me know. Not sure which but the vet said its harder on the tee tee as her bladder is right now so small, she cant hold it as well and her bladder muscles arent as strong yet. But i've noticed the last few days she holds it better and is doing better. I take her out first thing in the morning, she does both straight away. Then I bring her in and feed her and give her water. In about 30 minutes or if i see her acting like she wants out I will ask and she will speak, so out we go again. During the day , i put her food down about every 5 hours. I then empty her bowls and I do not leave water for her. If she wants water she will go to her bowl then I give her water, that way I know it wont be long until I need to take her out. She is doing great on the pooh pooh thing, but I'm thinking it might take longer for the pee pee as her vet said, the muscles and the small bladder are not strong yet. But I am here most of the time during the day with just she and I. that is one of the biggest things i think has helped. she has my kitchen, dining room, hallway, utility room and living room free which goes all the way from my front bedroom to the back door. I keep the doors to all my bedrooms closed and my house is very open so it isnt that hard for me to keep a pretty close eye on her. my LR is carpet, the rest is tile to the bk door. As soon as she wets I clean it with Urine gone and she doesnt usually go back to the same place. So I feel that is working. sometimes she wets some place in my house a couple times a day. but lately that is about the max for the day inside. But you really have to work at it and stay consistant. If she wets my floor I Tell her to get in her bed and stay, she will run jump into her bed and i tell her to stay each time she gets out untill she stays for 2 or 3 minutes as that is a long time for her i think. anyway, this is all I know to tell you, consistence and scolding or punishment and no treat for the accidents. Good luck with your training and to all who are going thru this. Love for her over takes the bad for me I guess. lol. wish me luck on her getting better as we go. sometimes Patience is the virtue and sometimes I get impatient. gl to all.
