Yes, it's true. I hacked my little boy all up! Holy cow he is so soft!! The soft little yorkie I was looking for was under all that course hair!!! He is SOO soft!! I will post pics sometime soon. He actually looks really cute, and he still looks like himself. I am very pleased!!

I cannot wait!! Thor was handsome as heck with all the "coarse" hair!! (and personally I did not find him coarse!) I can only imagine how gorgeous he looks now!

How did you do it? I'm thinking of taking Badger to the groomer's but I'd really like to do it myself...

Well I started with a good pair of shears. Real hair cutting scissors. Then I grabbed a chunk of hair and cut!!!

It was crazy! But it worked. I wanted it a few inches long, so I put my fingers through his hair and cut at the top of my fingers, do you know what I mean. Then I just started clipping here and clipping there. Not very scientific, but I was happily surprised with the results! Good luck!

I cut my baby's hair myself too. I'm too paranoid to take her to the groomer's - she is so squirmy and I definitely don't want her head in a noose. I also use a good pair of actual hair trimming scissors and cut it like you describe. Sometimes she sits better than others and I usually take a few days of additional trimming. I have been pleased with my results also.

Awesome!!! With all of the groomer horror stories that I have heard, this way was more appealing to me. I couldn't find any groomer that I didn't have to leave him there sitting for hours waiting to be groomed and I couldn't stay and watch. So I saved money and a piece of mind.

I know it's such a shock to see them short but I bet he LOVES it....and I know what you mean about being soft - all that really soft hair is under the top layer with Chanel too....

Oh Thor squirms! We have bar stools that I use for combing, doing hair, all that good stuff. So I put him on the tourture chair and cut. My mom kinda help keep him busy while I was cutting, so that was really helpful. Maybe you could get someone else to help you out!
