| Picking up Dixie on Friday! We thought it would be the end of the month, but our breeder called and said she was completely weened already. So, we are picking her up on Friday. I am kind of nervous. I just put my westie down at the end of Feb. Our westie didn't use a bed, cage, anything....so I am kind of clueless at what I need to buy. Suggestions on what type of bowls for such a small girl?? (less than 2 lbs) bed? cage? Any advice would be greatly greatly appreciated! |

| Hi Welcome to YT. I'm getting my little guy on Friday too. I am so excited. I bet you are too. What you need depends a lot on where you plan to have him sleep. I bought a crate for my first one, now 16 weeks old, but she hated it. So I took the door off the crate and put it in the laundry area. She sleeps in the crate with the door off. Do you plan to pee pad train or take him outside. I am doing both. If you plan to use pee pads, stock up. I also have invested in an x pen to block the kitchen door way. it's to wide for a baby gate. Some people use play pens. Is he going to be left alone while you work? If so you will probably want a large enough area to play but one that is safe. An x pen is good for that also, there is room enough for a bed and food and pee pads and play area.. Congratulations. |
