We talked to a guy that had severe allergies and he started taking a spoon full of honey every day along with his daily supplements. I know they are not human (we like to think they are) but can Yorkies take honey or bee pollen? It might be worth a shot to see if it helps! I had a Chi who responded well to intermittent prednisone and then got a shot a couple of times a year. But she was not nearly as severe as your little Lexi. I truly hope for you both that the allergist finds something to help her.

I've heard about the honey thing too, but the honey has to be LOCAL honey in order for it to work.

I didn't read all the replies but has she been checked for 'under the skin' MITES ?

A friend thought her yorkie had bad allergies - she TORE up her little foot so bad it looked like Raw Hamburger - she finally had them do a skin scraping and it turned out she had MITES Now that she's getting the right antibiotics - she is healing great - but her baby almost lost her foot to those nasty creatures.....this happened in Houston...so it could be something to ask about - if they're here - chances are they're all over the country....

Her other Yorkie did NOT get them either - go figure .....

I hope your baby feels better...that has to be so hard to deal with ....we hate seeing them suffer....

Good post Villette!!! I forgot to mention this but Chachi had mites and the vet thought his problems were all because of his allergies. Any dog can get mites whentheir immune systems are down. Apparently Chachis were when he had allergies and he got the mites. They just did a skin scrape to check for it. He had to be dipped in a solution every 10 days for 6 times. His skin problems are all better now though.

She has had 2 skin scrape test on her little chest 4 months in between.
