Thats what stumped the vet..she had been tested for her liver and all and it was fine..although she did test her for all again last night. She didn't have mastitis..all of her tests came out great. There was no reason for her to do this. And she didn't just have a seizure and it stop..she had them back to back with no let up. The vet said we may never know why. She said it's really hard to always pin point why they have them. But she said she could have just this one and never have another or she could have them the rest of her life. What is upsetting to me is I did do my homework and I planned. then when she turned two I bred her for the first time. Doing everything the way I was supposed to and everything has done nothing but go wrong for me. But I know these things happen. I just wish it hadn't all happened at once and all with tasha..bless her heart. |
I am so happy that Tasha is on the mend! Quote:
All the best to you! You sure have had a rough day! |
I just read this thread (don't know how I missed it before). I'm so glad that Tasha's home, and will definately add you both to my prayers... This may sound stupid, but infants and young children often have seizures BECAUSE of a high fever...you said her fever was 106...could she have been sick (virus, etc.) and the fever been the cause of the seizure, rather than the other way around? I know this happens in people, not sure about dogs... |

I'm so glad to hear Tasha's home with you and feeling better. What a horrible night you had! I have a feeling you won't get any rest tonight either.. |
I know i'm not explaining this very well sorry. I'll try again. If something was going on inside that would cause a fever then yes a high fever can throw her into seizures. But in her case she had nothing wrong. She didn't run a fever until after you had the seizures for awhile. Since they were so severe and lasted so long it's cause her body temp to raise to a dangerous level. That's the best I can explain it. I hope that makes sense. She got her fever to drop as soon as she got the seizures to start to stop and it never came back. If something else were wrong it would of took longer to get rid of her fever and it would and could of came back. Do you see what i'm saying..i know it doesn't make a whole lot of sense lol..It's almost like when you go into shock it makes your body do things it wouldn't if you weren't in shock.. She is still doing good though. Her puppies were sooo happy to see her. |
You are in my Thoughts and prayers . Hugs |
