I just got off the phone with the vet. She was gradually giving her valium to make her go to sleep..she said she finally got her to which made her stop having the siezures. she said she is waking up right now slowly and as long as she doesn't start having seizures again and eats I can pick her up tonight or tomorrow morn..depending on how she's doing. She is not out of danger yet but this is a good sign.
The vet doesn't know why she had the seizures or why she was runnning a 106 temp..all of her tests came back good. But she said sometimes we just never know why they do this. Also what worried the vet was she couldn't get her to stop having it..she seized continously for hours. Also something that is worrisome is it does damage to the brain with each one. We won't know the extent of the damage til she is up and going.
I want to thank u all so much for your prayers. without them I don't know what would of happened. You all helped me through the life and loss of brody and i'm thankful you were here for me again.
oh one more thing. I had called me vet and he didn't even answer his phone..he finally called me back over two hours later..I told him I took her to another vet..i like this one too. If I had waited on him she would of died for sure..

Poor Tasha, I pray she will recover and med can control the seizures.

Thanks for the update! We will continue to pray that Tasha will recover from this with no damage. Sounds like you have found a wonderful new vet!!! She sounds like our Dr. Lucy at home, she is so wonderful and caring! I can call her night or day at the office or at her home regardless of where we are and I have done that several times. It doesn't matter if it's an emergency or just a concern about food, etc. She has always told us that if for any reason we have a need ... she will keep Toto with her night/day. We believe that she is sincere and we trust her completely. I sincerely hope that you have found such a vet because they are rare! Please keep us updated on Tasha ... Toto sends her sweet, sweet puppy kisses!

I had a friend and her yorkie started having seizures too........the vet asked her is he had hurt himself.......fell off something?? She was not sure what happened, but the yorkie was an active little guy and jumped off everything no matter how high..........so she thought it was a pinched nerve in the neck because her baby would hardly lift his head......anyway, the vet told her that any type of seizure is Neurological in nature. He put the baby on a small dose of Primadone for about 2 weeks and the baby has had no other affects, seizures all gone too,.


SO, we have said prayers for you here at out house and we hope your vet doesn't just give up on your baby......if worse comes to worse, see another vet if yours won't try a seizure medicine.

I'm so sorry, I hope she continues to get better. This isn't the mother of your litter is it? That had to be terrible for you to watch. I'm sure you didn't get any sleep.

Tasha is 2 years 4 months. She had a litter of pups march 1st.
I just got off the phone with the vet and she said she finally ate and that is good. She hasn't had anymore seizures and she said if she continues to do good she might let me take her home tonight. She doenstn't know what caused it. She said it could of been cause she was taking care of pups and since they had depleted her so much in the beginnning that that could of played into it. She said with seizures sometimes you just never know why.
You know..when i was trying to find a vet for brody I called everyone in my phone book..well last night i called all those same people and couldn't get a hold of a single vet and I thought what am I going to do..she's dying and i can't get her help..then i thought i'd look in the old phone book..i don't know why cause if it's in the old it's in the new..and guess what she was in the old phone book. so I thought I will give it a try and just maybe this one will answer her phone..and she did. I really like this vet. She was so kind and answered all of my questions. She treated tasha like she was her own. She was really caring. So I have found me a new vet. Thank you God.
I wanted to say thank you to everyone that prayed for her..cause guess what..the vet doesn't think the seizures did any damage..not any that we can tell now..and she had seizures for around 4 hours and to have them that long it's a miracle they even survive much less with next to none or no damage at all. I am so happy..

Oh we will keep Tasha in our prayers!!!!

I just now read about what poor little Tasha...and you...have been through! How scary! I'm so glad things are looking up for you and I will pray for Tasha!

Prayers and positive thoughts are being sent to you and Tasha. I am so sorry she and you have had such an ordeal. But it is good to hear she is doing better. I am also glad you have found a new vet that you like and that you have faith in! That is one good thing that has come out of this. Now, get some rest. Hopefully you can pick her up tonight and then you will probably stay up all night checking on her, so today you should rest and be prepared!
