| She's home..She has to take med for seizures tomorrow and the i'm supposed to call the vet to see if she wants her to take anymore..IF she has another seizure she will be on it for life. She is also on antibiotics. The vet doesn't know what triggered the seizure but she said she thinks the seizure is what caused her to have a 106 temp. She is still a little drowsy..but eating good. I am going to fix her. She doens't need to have anymore pups..plus there is a chance that nursing the pups could of took too much out of her and helped bring on the c-section..I don't know for sure but not taking the chance. That and to me she isn't good for breeding. So she will forever be my lap dog. For those of you that want to breed. I want to say something. I almost lost my dog and granted it may not of been from breeding her but it could of played a part in it. Plus I have spent more money than I made. She had to have a c-section done in the middle of the night..she almost got eclampsia..she had a seizure plus normal vet bills..I also want you to think about something. They say don't breed your pets. I didn't..I bought tasha to breed her and I can tell you this. It didn't hurt any less and wasn't any easier almost losing her. YOu have to be prepared for the worst and know that if it does happen it is still just as painful. Just a little food for though.. Thank you everyone for caring. I want you all to know I"m here for you as well..Big Big Big HUG TO YOU ALL..

| Hang in there. You know there are tons of prayers coming your way. Perhaps it wasn't really a seizure but convulsions brought about by the fever. But then, what do I know. I just lost my Reggie who just wasn't quite up to par.

| I am so glad she is better and able to come home. Just watch her really carefully. I had an American Bulldog who had a litter of pups and on day three had seizures due to a calcium deficiency. I rushed her to the vet and got her on calcium and she was better. Then a few days later she started going downhill again. She barely moved on the way to the vet, she could not walk...I was afraid I was going to lose her before I got her to the vet. Turns out she had mastititis in one breast and had a very high fever. Seems that when they go bad, they go downhill very fast They gave her a shot and she was immediately better. We had to milk that breast to get all the infection out and believe me, it was a lot! I have never seen such a sick dog in all my life and it came on her so suddenly. I totally agree with you that you are taking a huge risk when you breed dogs. In my opinion and from my experience, if you feed premium food, vet your dogs and provide excellent living conditions you don't make any money breeding dogs and raising puppies. There is just more involved in it than most people see. I am not saying that no one should breed...how else do we get our babies if no one is raising them...all I am saying is that a whole lot of thought should go into it, a lot of homework should be done before it and a whole lot of testing should be done to insure that the breeding will produce better than the parents...and that those pups will be the healthiest because the parents were proven worthy to breed. JMHO...hope I did not offend anyone.
