| New tiny shih tzu pup Ok...I don't even own a yorkie, what brought me to your site was my interest in possible getting a shorkie. Well I got hooked on your site!! Hope it's ok to ask ?? here about a non yorkie puppy, as I haven't found any site that compares to yours!! Well here goes: 1. Puppy is 10 weeks and about 1.6 lbs. We got her yesterday, she came by plane. She's really tiny. I've been giving her the Nutrical a tiny bit at a time about every 3 hrs. or so....is this ok? She's eating great and drinking great too. I guess I need to know show i keep giving her the Nutrical. The breeder suggested we give her some when we picked her up as her blood sugar would be low. 2. My other dog, 3 yr. old bichon/poodle mix is a mess!! She's running around whinning constantly. We're giving him lots and lots of x-tra attention. All he wants is to be close to the new baby and sniff the heck out of her. We've let him sniff her lil bum bum a few times as the Pet Whisperer says this is a good way for your pet to get to know a new pet. We aren't letting him get to close because she's so tiny and she has only had one set of shots because of her size. We're washing our hands constantly because we don't want her to get sick...the rule is when you pet Winni (older dog) you wash up after and when you pet or pick up Georgia you wash up before. Am I on the right track with this or am I being too paranoid? 3. Last night i gave her some Nutrical before bed and also put some kibble in her lil attached dish to her crate. This was about 12 a.m. I got up at 6 a.m. and gave her some more nutrical and she ate some kibble and drank. Is 6 hours too long for her to be in her crate at night?? Like i said she's 10 weeks about 1.6 lbs. She seemed fine at 6 a.m. not shaking or lethargic. I think that's all but I'm sure I'll be posting more. Thanks for any advice and if I shouldn't be posting here because I don't have a yorkie I apoligize. You're all just so nice and wonderful with your advice. Thanks again~! |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I'm sorry we don't endorse any other puppies but yorkies I am kidding. I think it sounds like you are doing a great job. I would suggest continuing with the nutrical. She's a itty bitty thing. Be sure to pay much more attention to your older dog. Remember she has already claimed THIS house AS hers. Someone else will certainly provide you better suggestions than I. Enjoy your new baby.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | I would give nutrical 3 times a day. It is full of vitamins and nutrients so it's not going to hurt. Just make sure she is still eating her kibble as well. Every now and then, I give it to my older dogs as a treat! They LOVE it!
