| How do you know if they have fleas? Annie has been scratching herself A LOT lately. We had been gone away for the weekend and she was staying with a friend. I know they had gone to dog parks. When we came home I noticed this black bug on the counter. (Not near Annie to high) As I was about to go get it, it flew away. I have never seen this kind before. Could it have been a flea? I looked all over Annie since but I can't seem to find anything. But she is scratching herself A LOT lately. Am I just being paranoid? Could it just be dry skin? |

| I really dont think it was a flea cause ive never heard of a flea flying before. You can turn her over on her back and look at her stomach and see if you see any fleas on her. It could be just dry skin.

| Are you sure it flew, maybe it jumped. does she have an spots maybe she got bit. You could treat her just to be on the safe side. You don't always see fleas if there is just one. |

| You should be able to see them running around on her..also there will be little black things in her hair that will almost look like little pieces of dirt... that's where she's been bitten

| I use K-9 advantix for fleas, ticks, and miscitoues. Even to prevent them from getting them at all. Works wonderful! There may have just been one or two of them. Fleas do jump around all over sometimes. But if you only saw one then its not a big deal. But since we are getting into spring time its probably best to go ahead and treat.
