Yorkie Lover Donating Member | ![]() I am so worried and nervous...Magic had her surgery today to get spayed...we took her in at around 9 this morning and am still waiting to hear from the doctors...I know that she will probably be okay but she is my little girl and I am worried about her...I don't want her to be scared or anything and esp. not in any pain...what do we need to worry about this evening when we get her back?? Our little Sailor has no idea what is going on, what should we do with the two of them, do they need to separate while Magic heals or will they be okay together?? I have never been through this and am not sure what to expect...any help would be great!!

| ![]() Have you heard back from your vet? I'm sure everything went fine. Let us know how little magic is doing when you have a chance. |

| ![]() I would be sure and ask the vet and the staff in the vet's office every single question you have. Those are all good questions. I would think she would be groggy and will probably mostly just sleep until the morning, but I am not an expert. You probably do not want to disturb with the other dog who is probably going to want to play. Probably just let them say "hello" and then put the recovering one in a quiet place close by so you can watch her. |

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | ![]() We picked up Magic and she is safely back at home. She did very well and is resting this evening. She still seems very medicated, but the doctor said she would sleep that off tonight and would feel better in the morning. We are so happy to have her back at home......we missed her so much today and worried all day about her. The doctor was wonderful and called as soon as she was out of surgery and gave us an update....so by 1pm we were able to relax a bit and wait for her to be able to come home. She does not have any stitches.....so maybe that will make it a little easier on her. The doctor told us not to have her do any jumping or running for 3/4 days....so she does not open up the incision.....but after that she will be in good shape. (We are not sure how we are going to keep our little hyper dog resting for that many days....as she is the queen of jumping from one piece of furniture to another and her favorite past time is chasing her sister.)

| ![]() I am so glad to hear Magic did well through her surgery! My Maddie was spayed yesterday and pretty groggy all night, but today she is wild and crazy again. I have put her in her crate to get some rest and if I let her out, she is jumping up on the furniture and off of it...that is when I can't get there fast enough to help her. I know she shouldn't do that, but but those little springs in her legs just won't stop! Keeping these little puppies quiet is not an easy task! Best wishes for a quick recovery for little Magic. Hey...no stitches? How did they do that? I thought they always needed stitching. |

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | ![]() I should have said no external stitches....she does have stitches inside that will desolve, but her vet uses a surgery glue to close the skin layer. I am so glad your Maddie did well with her surgery....that really helps to know....and I am sure Magic will be a handful tomorrow trying to keep quiet and I am sure that she will do some jumping and running......because unless she is in a crate the entire day.....she will try to have some fun....I thnk that is what makes Yorkies so lovable is their energy level!!
